You thought we were done talking about Rhythm of War? Not even close. This time we have a different cast and we talk about all sorts of things that we didn't talk about in our first Rhythms of War Reactions cast. The book is so big we still probably didn't touch everything, though. But don't you worry: our deep dive podcasts will begin next Saturday, and we have so very many topics to get through.

Today on “Random Thoughts I Had While Watching Shardcast”:

  • What if Raboniel is using spiritual transformation? She transformed the Sibling’s spiritual aspect.
  • What if El was “He Who Quiets” because he killed the person who was supposed to be the Stoneward herald before Taln stepped in?

Hmm, I'm not convinced all Radiant Plates behave that way. I think that had to do with Kaladin being a Windrunner (who protect others) and the Plate being made up of Windspren (being free is in their nature)

That bit where @Argent pauses to reflect on the types of chemical bonds, covalent and ionic, and then goes on to speak of forming aonic bonds...I genuinely could not tell if that was intentional or not, but it made me smile, either way. So thanks for making me smile!

The Connection vision that Dalinar sees with Nale shows Nale holding a "suckling child" while dark forces ride in the distance, so I think that's what the Death Rattle refers to.

I agree with the theory that Ishar wants to turn himself back to a human from a cognitive shadow. My thought was he wants to be able to die permanently to get out of torture. Some of the other Herald's recent actions are motivated by trying to avoid more torture and why wouldn't they be?

Kalak's solution is to leave the system.

Nale's solution is to switch sides. 

Ishar's motive could be to Ascend to godhood for real since he claims to be the Almighty and such.

About the death rattles, we know that they are likely associated with the stained-glass type future sight, which also predicted that Dalinar would be Odium's champion, so given that the rattles are pre-OB, how accurate do we think they are likely to be, now?

I mean, it's not like they're super accurate all the time anyways, but still...
