The haunted man finally gets to do the haunting for once 

I am legit laughing so hard right now.

Now that this podcast pointed it out “main character unlocks their powers in the last few pages and saves the day” really is most of his cosmere books.

Not necessarily a criticism but it does happen a lot. I feel like MB era 1 didn’t do it as much. More like they just figured out a secret involving magic. Or completely screwed up depending.

Not necessarily a criticism but it does happen a lot. I feel like MB era 1 didn’t do it as much. More like they just figured out a secret involving magic. Or completely screwed up depending. 

TFE was guilty of this and in a really bad way. The ending was an absolute deus ex machina where Vin used a new power that came out of nowhere and was only explained in the sequels. At least in the other examples you gave, there was foreshadowing (not counting Warbreaker as I haven't read it yet).

Makes me happy that I didn't start out reading Mistborn as it is something that would absolutely make me put a book down and not bother picking up the sequels. Granted, as his popularity grew, I would have probably picked up another title, especially once I found out that TFE was only his second published novel. Besides that, I almost always give an author a second (sometimes third) chance if I didn't like one of their books.

During the discussion of cities around perpendicularities, I got this image of a perpedicularity on a coast somewhere, with half of the city on land on the shadesmar side and the other half on land on the physical side. A symmetrical city where you can never see the full image at once.

Or completely screwed up depending.  How can one disagree? Of course, I understand that everyone has their own opinion, but still? I respect people who have their own thoughts in their heads. There’s simply no adding or subtracting here. Keep up the good work as they say. This is already normal, wow. I can't even imagine this. I'm just getting goosebumps right now. I also sometimes use this but not as often as I would like. Everything has its own rules. In general, I like your opinion. That's how it should be!

I got my shipping notification!!

My notice of what I ordered, because it has been so long I'd forgotten, does not include an audiobook for Isles of the Emberdark. Did I just miss that option? I bought the ebook and both the ebook and audio for Dragonsteel Prime. I always buy the audiobooks. I am so confused. Was this just not an option? Thank you!

ETA: Oh, I did miss it!!! I likely saw the Prime audiobook and assumed the other was there. And there is no way to add it now. So sad! But perhaps I can get the Audible version. In 6 months...
