Edits of Champions

As I’m sure you know, Wind and Truth is out! There’s a lot of pages that need to be created or updated, and we’d love to have your help! Similar to what we’ve done for some past releases like Tress of the Emerald Sea, this year we’re hosting our Edits of Champions challenge, centered around all the pages that need to be updated for Wind and Truth. Whether you’ve never made an edit before or are an experienced veteran, we’re happy to have your help! If you’re new to the Coppermind, don't worry; we’ll provide you with whatever guides and assistance you need. You don’t need any prior experience, just a willingness to help out! You can find the list of objectives here. (Do note that the spreadsheet has full Wind and Truth spoilers!)

How does it work?

We’ve compiled a list of 120 important pages that need to be created or updated, and have assigned them a point value between 1-4, based on difficulty and the amount of info you’ll need to add. If there’s a significant page that you think should be on the list, but isn’t, please let us know!

What’s in it for me?

We want to motivate people to help, so we will be giving out Coppermind awards for every user who completes an objective, as well as awards to the three editors who earn the most points during the next three months. These awards will then be proudly displayed on your user page for all to see.

How do I get started?

The most important thing is to be bold! Content is hard to write, but we can always format your stuff if it doesn't quite match conventions. MediaWiki notation may appear scary at first, but the best way to learn is through experience. If you're interested, we have lots of guides to help: Help:Contents.

It does help a lot to have ebooks so you can find instances of a specific word or person. (This is extremely helpful for minor characters). If you have physical books, ask us and we can help you find information so you don't need to reread the whole text. We can also direct you towards some good articles to use as a go-by.

Before you dive into working on a page, first go to the Edits of Champions spreadsheet, and put your name next to the page you want to claim, so people know you’re working on it. You can claim up to two pages at once if you like, though we’d ask that you don’t claim two 3 or 4 point pages at the same time. (Once you complete one, however, you can claim another!)

Come join us on the dedicated Coppermind Editing Discord, or come chat in the #coppermind channel on the 17th Shard Discord. We are happy to help!
