tobar14 he/him Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Sorry if asked already, but I was re-reading Rhythym of War, and the parts where certain Chars can see into shardesmar made me wonder what would they see if they looked into shadesmar/cognitive realm to see what an Honorblade looks like there.

It's possible they don't look like anything when summoned. If a human transitions to the Cognitive Realm, they don't seem to exist in the Physical Realm or at least they don't leave any visible remnant. Similarly, I would think if a spren is summoned into the Physical Realm as a Shardblade, they shouldn't be visible in the Cognitive Realm at all. It's been a bit since I read OB, but I think someone in Shadesmar said that when the deadeye blades are summoned, they disappear from the Cognitive Realm. 2
1 Parzival Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 If you're looking in shadesmar while they are in the physical realm then I would assume they are just another bead, unless god metals look differently when viewed in shadesmar. If you were to take a honorblade into the cognitive realm then it would likely still be a sword since that's just what they are, same as nightblood or Azure's sword. 1
0 Mage he/him Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 I have no evidence to back this up, but I would postulate that it would probably be glowing since it is highly invested, but it wouldn't be a spren. Rather it might look like a more mechanical grouping of investiture. This is assuming you can see it at all. Counter question: What do spren shardblades look like, when summoned in the physical realm and a lightweaver/elsecaller/willshaper is looking into shadesmar? 1

Honestly I think they will remain looking like their Sword-forms, since the Spren looked at that to mimic the Bond and make radiants. 2 hours ago, Mage said: Counter question: What do spren shardblades look like, when summoned in the physical realm and a lightweaver/elsecaller/willshaper is looking into shadesmar? Presumably they would see their humanoid spren forms, the same way Soulcasters look like the spren the make them up when viewed that way.
0 Honorless he/him Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Nightblood still looked like a sword in the Cognitive Realm, so I think the Honorblades would as well

His native for IS a sword. Which is true for Honorblades too, I would think.
