Day 22: Open

Day 23: Leak

The idea behind this one is that this dude has some saliva dripping from the tip of his tongue, therefore, leaking out of his mouth. When you say it aloud or think about it using those terms, I think it’s just me, but I kinda get uncomfortable lol. Also, pardon the hand :pp

Day 24: Extinct

Day 25: Splat

It’s a blob with a top hat and cane, taking a break from all the dancing it’s been doing. He’s vibing and taking a break from life and all that.

Watching the Ahsoka the Fugitive arc while drawing leaves you in tears, especially at the end.

Day 26: Connect

Now you may ask: “Syn, why are the hands not grasping each other? It’s supposed to be about some sort of connection, not the gap in between.” Well, you aren’t thinking about it enough.

These two things do connect, but they have opposing ideas. The hand on the bottom represents the things that are dying, fading away, being forgotten, etc.; but the hand on the top represents things that are living, growing, and always being remembered. They have the same connection that they are hands, but the difference is the way they look and how you perceive it.

Day 27: Spark

Despite having never played Pokémon Go in all of my existence on this planet, I drew Spark from the game. Because… well *gestures to the name and the prompt for today* I think it’s very subtle.

I swear, Dr. Facilier is one of the most flashiest villains in Disney history. More flashy than any of the more modern Disney villains. I’m saying this, because I was watching Princess and the Frog as I was drawing :v

Day 29: Patch

At first, I wanted to draw someone with patches on their skin, then realized how gross that would be and how much I didn’t want to draw that, so I decided to draw someone with an eyepatch. It’s cooler and less gross.

Day 30: Slither

Being the nerd I am, when I had first saw the prompt, I first thought snake and that led to the Hogwarts House: Slytherin as any other nerd would think of. I personally am not a Slytherin, but I think they’re cool and underrated, and I probably would be one if I didn’t have so many Ravenclaw traits. Rowling did them dirty in just about every piece of media from the franchise, but that’s another topic for another day.

Anyways, which Slytherin did I draw today? You probably already guessed it as soon as you saw me say “Slytherin.” Yeah, it’s our boi Draco Malfoy. And I cannot tell you how much Drarry and Dramonie fan art I had to go through to find a good piece of art that wasn’t a piece of ship art that I could understand and reference a bit.

Day 31: Risk

The idea behind this one is that the dude is jumping off of something – taking a leap of faith, if you will – and risking his life for that jump. Taking a risk for a greater cause, I believe.

 

My thoughts and opinions on the past month of drawing?

Well, it really helped me relax. Any type of creative thing, especially drawing, helps me to relax. This month, especially these past two weeks has been hard on me and having me busier than ever with very little time to myself; you can tell with certain drawings, as some are more detailed than others. But this centered me and got my creative juices flowing every day, even if it were just for a few minutes. It actually wants me to do a whole thread just dedicated to what drawings I make either in my sketchbook or digitally, just because I like sharing what I did even if most of it is horrible.

Will I be doing this in the future?

I sure hope so, and I very much want to. I can’t remember why I didn’t want to in the first place, but now I just want to do what I can with that.
