Hi,

Do we know if the windspren that forms Kaladin's plate in RoW are the same windspren that were with him throughout the novels; for example when he defeats Szeth above the Shattered Plains.

It would be nice if Brandon could confirm if the windspren were always following him around.

We do not know this. It would actually be a really good question for Sanderson. But based on the whole statements that Syl makes in WoR about how the winds knew Kaladin before she did, and how the winds guided her to him, and all that weird spiritual Connection stuff, it seems extremely likely that they are in fact the same windspren.

I dont think so, purely based on the way Plate (as compared to Blades) can be Lost, Broken, and regrown with additional stormlight makes me think they made of are non-specific spren.

That's a very cool idea, I would like that to be true. But I don't know if windspren were capable to recognize Kaladin (or any person). One can hope.

I find that more compelling that, dead plate at least, is the same Spren using investiture to regrow the form it has adopted.

But investiture (such as spren can neither be created nor destroyed, only transferred I am excluding the use anti-light from this statement). Therefore when shard plate is attacked by normal means the condensed spren simply need to reform I imagine. You can't kill creation spren or wind spren by hitting them with a hammer. If they are condensed into shard plate you could disperse them. Stormlight, like mastery of their ideal makes them pool/condense. That is my thought anyway. If you think of when Shallan and Kaladin are living up to their ideal, like when Shallan is creating art with Wit, or Kalladin defending their respective plate spren are their in droves. Stormlight serves to cause this to happen too. In dead plate, this is the fastest way to regrow damaged plate. Just my thoughts.
