Shocking discovery looking at The Eye of the World Cover

I'm reading the Wheel of Time again (5th time that the wheel has turned for me) and I just noticed that the casting for Rand for the live action version was set when the Eye of the World first came out.

The first US cover clearly shows that Rand needs to be played by (spoilered below):

The original covers are wildly inconsistent and often kinda bad. In other news fire is hot, water is wet and the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.

Also, I'm sorry but that isn't Nic Cage, that is totally Chevy Chase.

As much as I dislike the original covers I would not be opposed to good ol' Nic Cage replacing Josha.
