During the Shardcast with Brandon, Brandon let it slip that there is another sliver in the book but he wasn't sure if he had actually told his that that character was a sliver. He confirmed Hoid is one, so that isn't who he is talking about.

Any guesses?

1) 16 seems to be the most obvious choice. He seems to be going about something strange, doesn't seem to need to eat or bath (invested?), and leaves his room every 16 days (a suspicious number). His paranoia makes not seem like he has something to hide/protect, so I would say likely it is him.

His not eating reminds me of Hoid, so I wonder if maybe they held the same dawnshard at one point (or 16 still has /is it).

2) Another option might be Vasher? Perhaps he at one point held more power than we have seen.

SPOLIER-ish.

So, would the emperor (from the planet of Endowment) count as a sliver? Because if 500 breaths makes you immortal, 10k breaths is getting up there. How many breaths were needed to awaken NIghtblood? So perhaps Vasher. My other thought is Kaladin. Child of Tanavast and all that. Maybe a Ghostblood?

I believe it was 1000 breath to make Nightblood.

I would also say maybe Shallan? She is often asked "what are you" and her past still is quite suspicious (Is she Chanarach or possibly her daughter? They look identical)

Nightblood was awakened with 1000 breaths, although Shashara likely had at least 20 000 in order to do it. And it's 2000 to become immortal.

The God King had at least 40 000. I would think in addition to his divine breath he would have to qualify.

Isn't it Dalinar?

We might as well make a list of the most heavily invested characters on Roshar and see if we can tease it out. Thanks for jogging my memory. I need to read Elantris again.

1. Shards-Odium, Cultivation

2. Shattered Honor

3. Hoid (who is a silver),

4. Nale (Herald+5th ideal Radiant)

5. Heralds

6. Vasher (not sure where he is in terms of number of breaths). I'd say 2000 breaths is below the Heralds, but 40k is above them.

7. Fused

8. Radiants

9. Adolin

10. Soul casters/ shard bearers (who are bonded to dead eyes)

11. Singers

12. Humans

Requirements

  1. Slivers must be sapient beings.[2][3][fn 1]
  2. A human must hold a large portion of a Shard; a single bead of lerasium is not enough.[5] While using the Well of Ascension seems to make one a Sliver, touching the Well of Ascension but not holding and using its power might not.[citation needed]
  3. Slivers must have used up that power or released it.

Now if you go to the sliver page you get this:

Interestingly enough Hoid isn't on this list. So this got me thinking, was it an issue of sliver semantics or did Hoid actually hold a shard at the shattering then declined it?
