Okay, crazy thought: It just occured to me (and I haven't gone to check in the arcanum prior to writing this so excuse me if there's stuff that I don't know for sure) that we could have probably been seeing both Cultivation and Honor's god metal all along. These gods metal (yes, I am saying that it's only one for both of them) would be Avastium, and it's the metal both Shardblades and Shardplates are made from. The properties of this metal would be that it interferes with Investiture.

My theory would be that Shardblades cut like they do because they can interfere with the natural investiture of all things and people, and my reason to believe that it interferes with Investiture comes from the fact that Surgebinding doesn't work on Shardplate, I don't recall that we have seen any Radiant try to surgebind on a Shardblade but I believe it would have a similar result. Now the reason I think that this theory doesn't contradict the fact that both Shardblade and Shardplate are manifestations of spren in the physical world is that spren themselves are splinters of both Cultivation and Honor, essentially part of their bodies (which matches the description of the known god metals).

Lastly, it would be only one god metal for both of them because they have combined their investitures since they were invested in Roshar and in this case, the Intents of their Shards aren't opposites, which is what I believe that happened with Ati and Leras. Also, it would be called Avastium after both of hte vessels Koravellum Avast (She who brings the Dew at Dawn) and Tanavast.

And with that I rest my case. I'm thrilled to see what you people think
