The metals are usually named after the original Vessels of their Shards but the properties of the metal shouldn't really automatically shift after the Shard switched hands, with time that might change, till then one could still call it Raysium.

The Godmetal that has already formed will not be affected at all, so those are still Raysium.

Looking at it this way, Raysium will always be Raysium, if Taravangian changes the effects of Odium's godmetal, it would not be Raysium but something else, something new.

If Kelsier created a metal while holding Preservation that it would have acted the same as lerasium, though over time the properties of it might shift.

Would an alloy of atium and lerasium produce the same effects pre- and post-Harmony?

Brandon Sanderson

Yes.

What is Odium's metal called? Before it was Raysium, but now that there's a new vessel, Is it Taravangium? Odiumium?

I'm particularly intrigued by the thought of the statement "the properties of it might shift" in this context. Has it been revealed why or how these properties might shift?
