Hey I was wondering how and when and if these questions get answered. I'm sure this question's been asked before, but there's alot of material in this post.

At the end of WoR Jasnah says that "God is dead" and Hoid responds something along the lines of "I think you'll find that he lives on in the hearts of men". Jasnah finds that remark very clever. It is my theory that part of Honor's trap was placing a tiny pieces of himself into the people of Roshar, (kind of like Preservation placing pieces of himself into the people of Scadrial) thus somehow insuring that the prison will stand even after he is dead. This would explain why Odium is playing such an active roll in the utter destruction of Roshar (contrary to his pattern of coming, splintering the shard, then leaving): to completely free it of the influence of Honor and the power that holds him captive.

I didn't think so, I was just curious. As for the Desolation, I imagine that's when Odium surges out of his prison trying to escape, so I don't think Hoid would necessarily cheer it on...

On a different thread, I wonder if there were full Mistborns at the beginning of Scadrial, but the bloodline got stretched thin. Meanwhile in Terris Feruchemists bred true.

I agree with this one completely. When Wax smells cologne coming from the beggar and asks him about it, the beggar temporarily looks surprised. He said he was drinking it to throw Wax off.

This idea is probably way out there: but what if? What if Hoid has given up on instant noodles? I know he's just messing with us, but what if he's giving a clue? I dunno, let me know what you think about this idea.

That's a fascinating idea that Trell is a corrupted shard, or combination of shards. I would also submit that he is another whole shard/shards of Adonalsium (Shard of Chaos as opposite to Harmony possibly? i.e. Honor and Odium are opposites) or maybe he is from outside Adonalsium. Either another whole deific entity, or a shard of Adonalsium's opposite/counterpart.

I love how this started as a discussion of cookies, then turned to deep philosophizing over hemalurgy and other related topics...

Are you suggesting that Feruchemy is more... "native" to Scadrial than Allomancy?

There's theories that Wax is a Steel Savant. I don't think it's so much that Spook was damaged by his Savantism, it's more like his physiology was changed. As for your theory, the person's power is based on his Spiritweb. From what I've read, Allomancy has limits to how much power it can release, Feruchemy doesn't. (You can only push so hard, but you can release your weight all at once.) However, like in Spook's case, one would have to undergo physical, cognitive, and or spiritual change to push past the natural limits of Allomancy.

Hey so I'm sure this answer's already been given: but if you recall, the Lerasium was part of the physical body of Preservation. I believe that creating Lerasium and Atium may have weakened the power of Ruin and Preservation. If Harmony gives up power to create Mistborn, that may weaken him to vulnerability to attack from Trell. An article ran through the New Ascendancy Broadsheet in New Serran that discussed the possibility of a "Sazedium" or the metal of Harmony. I wonder if Harmony even can create Lerasium. Harmony is the combined power of the two shards, and Sazed himself said it would be very difficult to seperate. Does his metal provide different attributes than Lerasium? That is my second theory on Mistborn.

Yes and no, they used hemalurgic spikes to gain access to metalminds. They did create the gold metalmind Wayne uses.

Ok, so Investiture metalminds are unkeyed to a specific Spiritweb, regardless of who created it? Or do the Southern peoples have a way of unkeying their metalminds that we don't know about yet?

I recently finished reading Bands of Mourning for the second time, and I'm still confused about one concept: how do the "Southern Peoples'" medallions work? I understand the Nicrosil is necessary for the medallions to function and that it stores investiture, but what about it allows it to be tapped by anyone? This is different from the metalminds created without identity that the Set uses. But how? Any explanations?

I actually think that this argument is valid. Preservation seeks to maintain what is, Ruin seeks to destroy, Harmony seeks to combine the two to create. Feruchemy preserves attributes to be accessed at a later date. Hemalurgy seeks to destroy people in order to steal attributes, attributes reduced in the process. Allomancy destroys one thing (metal) but creates another in the process. That sounds like Harmony to me! However, time will tell how this theory plays out. I feel like Brandon will reveal it if it becomes relevant to the story.
