Light is a subtype of Investiture. Let's disregard the physical properties of Investiture for now. We thought that Investiture had two properties beyond the physical and the sheer amount: a kind of volatility or type - Stormlight is harder to store than Voidlight, which in turn is harder to store than Breath facultatively Identity - usually Investiture is coupled to an Identity though not necessarily - unsealed metalminds are an established thing And there seems to be some kind of state Investiture can be kinetic or innate Very well, now our dear Navani has identified two more attriutes, at least in the Lights rhythm tone Or has she? The name "pure tones of Roshar" is inaccurate, isn't it? Technically it should be the tones of the Shards strongly invested in the Rosharan system. That is the tones are linked one by one to Shards. Individuals in the Cosmere do have a Spiritweb, innate Investiture, Connections, and Identity. Three of these attributes are variable and alterable, but in principle they do exist. Identity is different. It is unalterable. You can store it, so it is variable, but just altering it is not possible. Now, this leads to a question. Is Identity the spiritual version of tone? Or is it a combination of rhythm and tone? Or has Navani found totally new properties?
