"Arminio. Arminio," Borodin repeated thoughtfully, nodding up and down. "I am most definitely sure I have never heard this name before."

Kuno raised an eyebrow.

"I'd be surprises if you did, he doesn't get around much. That is, unless you travel a lot."

I can hear you screaming from here...

That's mildly worrying :P

Wow, that's impressive! Especially since sound carries much worse through water!

You know what I'm excited for. <_<

You know what it is, you just can't remember.

Concerto put his ear up to the door. If Kade had kept the schedule, the guards should be changing soon. Now was the optimal time to escape.

Through the door, he could hear the guards talking.

"Yeah, I just don't know. He's been having so many secret meetings recently, I kind of wonder what he's up to. Y'know?"

"I've heard that all of those secret meetings are part of a giant plan to take out most of the humans."

Concerto pulled back from the door, his eyes wide. Could Kade really have accomplished what he had been about to do after years in a couple of days? He leaned closer again.

"--in Concerto's old office."

"Well, that's smart. Making sure people see him as the leader, right?"

"I'd see him as our leader whether or not he was in that dusty office. It is a pretty good place for secret meetings, though. No one's been able to hear anything, even the guards right outside the door."

Concerto smiled. He was going to go find out what Kade was going to do. And then he was going to sabotage it.

"Well, I think it's about time for that shift change." Two pairs of footsteps moved away from the door, and Concerto could hear the next pair of guards getting close to the corner. Now or never! He picked the doorknob with his claw, then slid the door open carefully. It hit something, and he peered around the door. The guards had dropped their keys! How idiotic. This would make escaping even easier. He snuck down the hall behind the previous guards and turned the corner just before the fresh guards could see him. He glanced around, looking for where Chorale would be held, but soon realized that she must have been held in that hallway. It was all right, he'd just have to come back later. He walked quietly up the stairwell up to the ground floor, reaching the door without seeing another guard.

For some reason that made me think of this part from inception. "You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away. You know where you hope the train will take you, but you can't know for sure. Yet it doesn't matter. Now, tell me why?" :P

He pokes his head back into the alleyway that they were totally in. "I was joking. I figured someone like you would only stab someone in a fair fight."

"You were right. Now, lead the way." Kimora gestured in the direction they were headed, pulling her sunglasses back over her eyes.

Anyone wanna be the vendor?

"Concerto's escaped." A messenger ran into the room, panting, sweat dripping from his brow.

Looks were shared around the room, and Kade sighed. "No matter. What's important is we keep the plan on schedule. The timing must be perfection."

He paused. "I'd like to speak with the guards later. We have much to discuss."

Hurry! You need to be at the Jungle settlement before Concerto gets back to Chorale! :) *devious planning noises*

Concerto strolled down the street, trying to look normal. Now he knew what it must have been like for Chorale, going to all of those settlements with her white eyes and having to blend in. He reached the building where his office was, then looked around and slipped inside. He quickly located his office, but there were four guards outside the door! He glanced around, then ducked into the room next to his--no, Kade's office. He put his ear up to the wall, listening carefully.

Kade nodded to the messenger. "Thank you for telling me, you may leave."

The messenger bowed, and exited the room.

Kade smiled. "On the note of Concerto, I discovered something in his books recently. Sorry old fool missed it, because it was in invisible ink."

He held up a worn journal, with faded writing on the front. "It tells of the manipulation of crystals." Kade paused.

"Without consuming them. Naturally, I sent the information to our engineers, and they got to work at once. In less than a moon cycle, we'll have a weapon capable of destroying most of human life on Crystel." He grinned.

"The weapon is being created in the old mine, where no roving eyes will find it. I expect everyone here to keep this information top secret, and guard it with their lives." Kade nodded to Daren. "Now what did you want to suggest about rifle manufacturing?"

Concerto put his hand over his mouth to stifle his gasp. Manipulation of crystals without consuming them? This was a giant breakthrough! He listened closer, maybe there would be more revelations.

Daren bowed, then began to speak. "I propose we step up productions of rifles. While Kade's plans are well and good, it is important that we continue to provide our soldiers amal's with firearms. We can convert the..." The conversation transitioned to Daren's plans for stepping up rifle manufacturing.

"Well, I should be meeting with Arminio soon my new friend. I would introduce you to him, but he doesn't like it when I do that, and I respect his wishes. So I believe that we should be parting ways now Borodin."

The man waggled his eyebrows. "Times have been hard lately, amal attacks, and whatnot."

He stared at Aerith, and Kimora. "I'll give you 20 minutes of each for six-hundred pecuni."

Concerto ducked behind a chair, his ear still to the wall. (He's in a room next to Kade's office)

Two guards knocked on the door to the office. "Sir, the warden would like to speak to you."

Kade sighed. "Meeting adjourned." He turned into a leopard, then walked out of the room.
