Brgst13 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 I was interested in this Death Rattle: He must pick it up, the fallen title! The tower, the crown, and the spear! ” —Collected on Vevahach 1173, 8 seconds pre-death, by the Silent Gatherers. Subject was a prostitute of unknown background. This is generally assumed to mean that Kaladin would become Dalinar's heir. Given that Dalinar has several family heirs, including Jasnah, this seems unlikely. Instead, I believe that he will become Jezrien's heir. The Tower could refer to Urithiru, or more likely the tower referenced in the Poem of Ista. The Crown refers to Jezrien's position as King of the Heralds. The Spear is rather self-explanatory. Opinions? 2
Karger he/him Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) Most opinions I have seen are that this references Kaladin at the battle of the tower. The fallen title could have been in reference to Dalinar reclaiming highprince of war status immediately afterwards. The Spear is obviously there as are the crown and tower. Also WoR was originally titled Highprince of War Edited July 9, 2020 by Karger
+Hoiditthroughthegrapevine he/him Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 I like it, it fits better than the Tower battle ever seemed to, to me. There is a vacancy for the windrunner herald, Kaladin's always been number Ishi in my book, so here's hoping your right!
Frustration Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Many people also point to the Tower and Crown as the Glyph pair of the Kholin house.
