Frustration Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 So I just finished Aether of Night and I can't help but wonder are Vae/The Former and Decay the same person? The last chapter makes it seem like it but it also doesn't seem set up that way? Do we have anything confirmed?
Honorless he/him Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 They are not the same entities. The Former says something along the lines of that Decay thought he had him imprisoned but the Former was exactly where he would've been anyway, with his people

+Invocation Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 (edited) Decay got cannibalized into Scadrial's Ruin (if it wasn't clear), so there's that. Edited March 28, 2020 by Invocation

Just making sure! 4 minutes ago, Booknerd said: Personally I think Decay is a cooler name, feels more inevitable. Less sinister, though, and more feels like a physical thing than the all-encompassing Ruin that Ati's Shard was.
