i was thinking about this is wondering if it did happen what it would be like  or if it would have any effect at all what you guys think i also wonder if the process of corruption in this case would be closer to a lesser spren or a living radiant spren

One could probably be corrupted. If Odium/Unmade get wind of Adolin's protective instinct toward Maya, they could potentially reanimate her. Of course this is pure speculation, because who knows if you can reanimate a spren like you can a Singer? We don't know how that was done or if it's still feasible. This would set a precedent for more of it happening, especially considering no one's going to be having an easy time of the year between 3 and 4, and if anyone mentions Maya other shardbearers might suddenly take more of an interest in their shardblades. I've seen this discussed in a bunch of other places but don't have time to give you links sadly, waiting on a ride.

thats fine ill see if i can find it myself later although its is also entirely possible they corrupt the spren and it might stay as a deadeye if that would have any effect on the apearance of a dead eye no clue and if it did it might warp the shardblades appearance in a strange way or it might do nothing visually who knows

There is a theory that that is what already happened to Renarin and Glys. That Glys was a deadeyes that was corrupted and restored via corruption. But at this stage we just don't know.

I dont see why they wouldnt be able to be corrupted. If a Deadeye can still form a Connection with it's wielder, even an extremely weak one, they shouldnt be so damaged that Sja-anat cant Connect to them (however she does) and work her hoodoo.  Whether that's enough to actually Heal them back to a functioning state is another question entirely, which we have far less data to speculate with.

Random Speculation:

  • If Her corruption process will revive a deadeye spren, then narratively it would become a lot more likely that we will see a Corrputed Sibling sooner rather than later, and a thus Voidbinding Bondsmith (which could be many kinds of awesome).
  • On the other hand, if the Everstorm is indeed a new UnMade, perhaps that spren can use the same ability that "healed" the Parshmen on the Deadeyes and restore them from their particular Spiritual Damage as well.

I mean, I feel like corrupting a Deadeyes would be easier than corrupting a normal Radiant spren, so there's really no reason to assume that that wouldn't be possible. I'm somewhat skeptically of the idea that doing so would revive the spren, though. It seems likely to me that Sja-Anat's power tinkers with the Investiture that's already in a spren rather than adding new Investiture, because surely she doesn't have to sacrifice a little piece of herself every time she touches a spren.

It would probably have a visually obvious effect on the Shardblade, though- see how Renarin's Blade looks like it's a mixture of two different kinds of metal.

This theory would be extra terrifying if you consider that the Fused seem to be attempting to collect all unprotected Shardblades. I like it! Maybe through Connection, the Everstorm, a large amount of Investiture and a Fused soul they could have their own version of a Radiant.

I dont know, the corruption definitely sounds like it involved injecting some amount of Odium's Investiture into the spren, rather than just rearranging the Honor/Cultivation mix.  But she doesnt need to be Sacrificing a piece of herself, just acting as a Conduit for Odium's Investiture the same way Ba-Ado-Mishram presumably does to provide Voidlight.

That's an angle I never considered.  As a test case, was there evidence of them rounding up the Deadeye spren in Shadesmar? If their goal was to actually revive and/or turn the spren, rather than just deny the Humans access to Shards (or to let their singers use them) I would think they would also try to collect them in Shadesmar.

I don't see why a Deadeye spren couldn't be Corrupted. They're still spren, pieces of sentient Investiture. We know Investiture can be Corrupted and we've seen Corrupted spren.

I wonder if they'd be more vulnerable to Corruption?
