ftl Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 So on the very last page, Hoid is singing some very meta song about artists and art. But the very last line is about "The more you must guess at the truth that is there, creator, creation, parted by the breadth of a hair". That's sounds like it's begging for a second half of a reference there, where somewhere in the book someone is separated from something important by hair in a panel. An I could have sworn that on this board I remember discussion about something like that. But now I can't find it. Anyone got anything? A previous discussion, or an idea of what art page completes the reference? Or am I just making things up?
Honorless he/him Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Sorry but I don't recall noticing any such thing
+Harrycrapper Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 I figured that was just meta commentary on how Brandon created White Sand but he wasn't the one to truly create the final publication that is the graphic novels.
Mat he/him Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Are you talking about the 3rd graphic novel? I noticed Hoid was on Khriss's boat but not those particular lyrics.
ecohansen Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 I've mentioned the quote before. The quote that you mentioned is very close to a panel where Baon and Khriss are separated by the back of Diril's redheaded head. I used the quote as evidence for an unlikely theory that Baon was actually secretly Skathan, and had secretly crafted Khriss' development to the extent that she could be called his "creation". However, I'm sure you could find other panels where characcters are separated by hair, and use them as evidence for theories that are more probable than mine.
