Elsecaller_17.5 he/him Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 As the title suggests, apparently I knew to go back to kindergarten cause I just can't figure it out. In Adolins Duel he fought 4 shardbearers. 3 with their own plate and 2 with their own blades. In chapter 66 when Kaladin is offered shards it is confirmed. 2 blades, 3 plates. Adolin then says he gave a full set to Khal bringing us down to 1 blade and 2 plates. He then says he's given 2 sets of plate to officers in the army. He now has 1 blade remaining. He then offers the blade to Kaladin along with a suit of plate. Where in Roshar did this last shardplate come from! It could of been the shardplate he won in his second duel, but that would require him to leave Elit's plate unaccounted for. So all in total Adolin appears to have won 3 blades (1 from the 1st duel gifted to Renarin and 2 from the 4th given to Kahl and Kaladin) and 5 suits of plate (1 from the 2nd, 1 from the 3rd, and 3 from the 4th gifted to Kahl, Kaladin, and two officers). Initially I assumed that Adolin only have an accounting of the shards he helped win but that leaves us with a extra set of plate magically appearing. The other option is he gave an accounting for all of the shards except one (for some strange reason). I'm confused please help.

He could have but I find it very odd to just not mention I set of Shardplate. I've counted several times since I posted and I'm pretty sure I have it right. 3 blades, 5 plate. But its driving me insane that I can't figure out where this last suit went.
RShara she/her Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 It's an error int he text and it's in the typo thread somewhere. I think it was fixed in the paperback. 3
