I started my introduction to Brandon Sanderson in the same way I'm sure countless others have. With much apprehension, and unexpected admiration, following the death of Robert Jordan, and his closure of the Wheel of Time series. Following my pleasant surprise at his handling of his guest spot in that universe, I slowly breached my way into the Cosmere, casually reading and enjoying some of his books.

Then, Hoid caught my attention. With this interest, I found myself falling into a deep, never ending rabbit hole. I was at first blown away by the idea of the Cosmere, unrelated stories tied together in a vast universe. I didn't know what blown away meant, and I've been making a solid dent in the published Cosmere collection, with various re-reads halting my progress to catching up with the released works.

I have currently caught up on Stormlight, am re-reading Mistborn1 and am partway through Mistborn2. I've also read Elantris and am about to dig into Warbreaker. On top of this, I've started doing a lot of research into Adolnasium, the Cosmere, and, especially, Hoid, the initial source of my curiosity.

I'm a 27 year old nerd from the Pacific Northwest. Besides the Cosmere, my literate interests follow a similar vein. The Wheel of Time and The Kingkiller Chronicles are my amongst my favorite series. I play a lot of DnD, and spend a lot of my time listening to DnD podcasts when I'm not listening to Audiobooks.

I enjoy listening to and creating music of all kinds, doing what I assume some may call drawing, and killing time with Vidya James.

My friends call me Spyro, so I hope you do too, new friend.

Hello, welcome to the Shard! I, too, have been investigating Adonalsium and other Cosmere mysteries recently. I feel in over my head with it all and it's pretty fascinating stuff.

Do you have a favorite Sanderson book or character?

Thanks for the warm welcome! I feel pretty over my head too, but I'm looking to drown with someone else. Shoot me a message if you want and we can chat about our latest Cosmere subjects of interest!

My favorite character would probably Sazed, I think.

I've listened to a bit, and I like it. I plan to listen more, but my main squeeze is definitely TAZ. I even flirted with my own actual play podcast for a bit and released three episodes before my real life schedule necessitated that I cut it from my schedule, at least for the time being. I hope to get back on that one day.

Hello and welcome to the shard!

If you could choose a type of investiture for yourself, which one would it be?

Welcome! I’m also a 27 yo nerd living in the PNW. :) It’s grand to have someone else from the area around these parts!

I don't spend much time around the theory boards, most of my (excessive) time spent here revolves around the RP section of the forums. Though, I do occasionally lurk the Mistborn and SA theory threads. Mistborn is my favorite series by far, I just love the Metallic Arts. So elegant and clever!

I came here to theorize, but when I saw there were roleplays that piqued my interest as well. now that winter is upon us, and my outside time is vastly limited by our fickle gods of weather, I might dive into that.

Mistborn is probably best my favorite as well. I've always enjoyed "hard" magic systems, and this is by far the hardest and most interesting I've encountered. im actually re-listening to Mistborn at work this week, and no one has noticed me silently crying at my seat as of yet!

We're always happy to have new members join us! Come by the Alleyverse and say hi if you get bored of staring out your window into the grey doom that is a Cascadian winter :P I'll be right there with you, hoping someone shatters my prison of seasonal depression and boredom with a new post.

Also, I too listen to Audiobooks and love them! It's nice to meet another Audiobook lover. Reading while working? Uh, yes. My literal dream for most of my life, now come true.

Welcome to the Shard! Much like yourself, my favourites are Wheel of Time and Kingkiller Chronicle; such great series but Brandon was the one who cemented my interest in fantasy. Hope to see you around more!
