You know, I had the thought halfway through of "Hey, what if this is actually Scadrial's future, and Brandon's going to totally blow our minds?" Though I say that as if the second part isn't a given.

I enjoyed Firstborn. I found it interesting how he approached the almost chess-mentality to the space combat. It was cool.

I thought Firstborn was a really fun read and an interesting character study between two (ideally) similar characters. Also, even though some of the technology seemed a little 'hand-wavy' to me, the story gave me even more hope for Sanderson's third Mistborn trilogy.

I partcularly liked Brandon coming up with a logical explanation for how we could have real-time comm across distances that took months to travel.
