Huh. So we're five people now.

Honestly, there's still some time until this becomes relevant in any way, and I myself don't really know how to go about doing this, but it's great to hear that it interests people!

I'd consider starting a PM or something, but I'm not sure I have much to say currently.

For the death aniversery, he wanted to propose the extremely difficult idea of attempting to not only make the Red Book, but mass produce it. The deathiversay was simply an excuse to mount this grand expodition.

The deathiversary is also important for the need to wait until the copyright passes and the work becomes public domain and thus the kickstarter can be launched without having to obtain permission from the Tolkien estate.

Unfortunately, that won't happen until 70 years after his death, aka 2043.

Exactly. Though, after hearing about a couple of stuff entering public domain and a couple of others not, I'm thinking I might need to go study these laws more deeply. I'm far from an expert on copyright laws.

On a slightly different note, it's probably best that I start a new thread for that because while this is 100% LotR related, it still discusses stuff around the books instead of the books themselves. I'll tag everyone who expressed interest when I start this thread.
