Hey guys, I'm Emon from India. Just finished reading Oathbringer, completing Stormlight. I've read Mistborn era 1, Warbreaker, Elantris and the Arcanum Unbounded short stories.

Just wanted to ask, what do you think Nightblood, Vivenna/Azure, Vasher/Zahel doing on Roshar? And how do you guys think Nin got hold of Nightblood? How did Vasher lose it?

Part of the reason Vasher is on Roshar is that he has easy access to investiture in the form of stormlight, which can fulfill his weekly requirement instead of a Breath.

Questioner

With Vasher on Roshar, is he collecting more Breaths, or just burning through slowly what he has collected?

Brandon Sanderson

He can use Stormlight instead. That's why he came to Roshar.

Questioner

Did he come voluntarily?

Brandon Sanderson

He came voluntarily because he was tired of sucking souls. Roshar is where he decided to "retire."

Questioner

How many Breaths <does he have now>?

Brandon Sanderson

He has the same number that he left with. Which, there are clues to what level of Heightening he at least has, in the books.

Questioner

So we already know that Vasher was Kaladin's trainer with a Shardblade, 'cause you told me that last time I asked you. So does Vasher just have a large mass of Biochromatic Breaths and that's how he's surviving, or is he somehow feeding off Stormlight while he is there?

Brandon Sanderson

He is feeding off of Stormlight, which is the primary reason why he came to Roshar. Investiture is easy to access in plentiful amounts.

Questioner

How did he know how to use Shardblades so well when he got there, is that related to how they created Nightblood

Brandon Sanderson

Yes, he has experience with Roshar from hundreds of years ago.

For your second question about how Nightblood got from Vasher to Nale, we know that the Nightwatcher presumably had Nightblood since she offered it to Dalinar in OB, and this was before Nale had it. Who knows whether she was the only intermediary between them though.

Thank you guys... Sadly, none of my friends or family members are fond of reading... I really wanted to discuss my thoughts and ask my questions about Sanderson's works... This community is like a home to me... Thanks for being here guys
