Sonic isn't exactly a franchise I think about when I think of high quality video games.  So to me, I fully expect a pretty bad movie.  However, I also expect it to be a really fun bad movie.  The trailer really sold me on seeing it, outside of nightmare fuel sonic, and that's being changed, so I'm looking forward to it.

I grew up on the original games and loved em.  I have vague memories of various Saturday morning cartoons ranging from "well this is garbage" to "holy cow this show has surprising depths and decent animation".

I think the movie trailer looks incredibly dumb though. Like.....cheesy and campy, but not in an intentional or funny way.  I'm gonna hard pass on it.

Their efforts to redesign Sonic and delay the movie will ultimately be putting lipstick on a pig. It'll be a garbage movie with garbage actors and a garbage script. 

So it'll be a 90s movie

I imagine that the Sonic movie is going to be like the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie if anyone else has seen that movie.

For those who haven't, the SMB movie was so bad that it was good. If that makes sense.

I get what you mean. Kinda like how Monty Python and the Holy Grail is actually super dumb, but it's fun to watch anyways.

I think that the sonic movie won't be all that great, but I'll probably go see it anyways. Even if the plot is terrible and the actors aren't very good, it's just super nostalgic to see sonic in live-action.

I'll watch the movie. Detective Pikachu was a diamond in the rough and although I wasn't actually bothered by Sonic's appearance, I'm glad that the rest of the world thought otherwise and they are going ahead with it. I'd much rather see a Sonic that has been worked on longer than a half-arsed movie trying to jump on the video game movie bandwagon.
