Timothy Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 We know that humans existed both on Yolen and other planets before the Shattering, but don't know all the details about it. What are your thoughts on which planet had humans beforehand and which didnt? My takes are: Nalthis: Created by endowment Sel: Created by DevDom Taldain: Not created Ashyn: Immigrants from Yolen Shadeworld: Not created First of the sun: Not created Roshar: Immigrants from Ashyn and other places.
old man moomba he/him Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Scadrial: Created by Preservation and Ruin

As @Dr. Dapper pointed out, you left off the one planet we know for sure: Scadrial. (Well we also know that Rosharan humans emigrated from Ashyn). I'd be interested in your rationale for these. My understanding from Arcanum Unbounded was that, while Scadrial was not the only place with created humans, it was pretty uncommon. P.s. "Shadeworld" is Threnody. I left Scadrial out because that's the only one we know for sure. The rationale for the others is mostly based on headcannons, I made the thread to learn what others thinl about this. I chose around half of them for each category because Brandon said in some interview it was half and half. Edited January 25, 2019 by Timothy
RShara she/her Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I believe Scadrial is the only planet that we've seen that was created by the Shards. From the way Khriss talks about it, it sounds pretty unique in being created by Ruin and Preservation. Quote Scadrial, another dishardic planet, is characterized by a host of unique features. It is one of only two places in the cosmere where humankind does not predate the arrival of Shards. Indeed, I am convinced from my studies that the planet itself did not exist before its Shards, Ruin and Preservation, arrived in the system. They picked a star with no relevant planets in orbit, specifically choosing this location because it was empty, so they could place there whatever they wished.

I was definitely remembering it wrong, thanks. Do you think that the other place referred to is Roshar (the planet)? Or do you think that Khriss is referring to systems?
