Gancho Libre he/him Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 I did not know such a thing existed! That's snazzy!
+Doomstick he/him Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 (edited) Our first discussion (prologue-c16) is monday, right? let me start it, I have the perfect idea @ILuvHats Edited January 17, 2019 by Kcitsmood
+ILuvHats he/him Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Oh! Sorry mate. I got confused when you said you had the perfect idea, and then tagged me. I thought you had a recommendation for the thread. But yes, Monday is the deadline for the first reading.
Rhapsody she/her Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I wouldn't recommend reading New Spring before TEOTW. Since, if I remember correctly, it would spoil the first time readers a lot of the revelations about Lan/Moraine/Siuan as it reveals their true intentions before even beginning the series. Personally I read it after AMOL and loved coming back to those characters. So I would recommend doing that.
whattheHoid she/her Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 You're probably right, it does show a better look into the world of.... possibly spoilers, wait definitely spoilers....read at your own risk! Spoiler Aes Sedai and how the students interact with each other and learn how to channel. I remember there is just so much going on with the Forsaken in the main series, that the normalcy in the Aes Sedai training is mostly uprooted.
Rhapsody she/her Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 That too but I meant more like (Spoiler read at your own risk) Spoiler because you know from the beginning of book 1 why Moraine and Lan are in Emonds Field. It spoils a lot of the book one reveals if you already know that. It also spoils Lan's heritage.
whattheHoid she/her Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Oh, yeah that too! Right! Yeah that should be definitely be read after AMOL. Yes!
+ILuvHats he/him Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 I love it when I have no idea what people are talking about, and just see their comments above the spoilers .
whattheHoid she/her Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 No problem, @ILuvHats! I live to serve!

+ILuvHats he/him Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Ha. Same here. I almost opened them, but then realized, “Whoa, wait there one gosh darn diddly minute! You’re not in Cosmere Discussion anymore!”
Rhapsody she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 That's why in the first attempt I tried to keep it spoiler free.
+Sorana she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 I finished chapter 16 this morning, and after a discussion between me and @Rhapsody I remembered why I stopped my last attempt to read the series. Though I have to admit, right now I'm highly motivated to read them all this time.
Gancho Libre he/him Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 YOU CAN DO IT SORANA!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAY!!!!!
whattheHoid she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 @Sorana have you ever finished WOT?
+Sorana she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 @whattheHoid No. Only the first few books, had Rhapsody fill me in on the gap and then read those by Brandon.
whattheHoid she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Oh, ok. I'm a little bit slow on this reread so I'll have to power read through the rest of the chapters tonight. It's not totally my fault, the tale of Geralt, Milva, Dandelion, Cahir and Cori are just so engrossing!
+Sorana she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 I also switched back to my other book as soon as I finished chapter 16 It's really exciting right now and I need to know what will happen next...
whattheHoid she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Ooh! What are you reading, @Sorana?
+Sorana she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 The ember blade. It was recommended here on the shard and I decided to give it a try.
+Sorana she/her Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 I'm halfway through and so far definitly. I like the setting and the characters a lot. Good enough to stop practicing with my embroidery machine and spend every free minute reading.
Ammanas Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 46 minutes ago, Sorana said: The ember blade. It was recommended here on the shard and I decided to give it a try. You'll have to give me a p.m. or even tag me in your thoughts of it if you post elsewhere. You'll be the first person who has read it on my recommendation. Yes, @whattheHoid its worth it. The beginning is a little slow but its a giant homage to the entire epic fantasy genre and yet doesnt come off as old and tired. I'm excited to read the sequel!
