She greeted him and then realized his earlier question.

Althea inclined her head slightly, his silence answer enough.

"What role do you want to play in this game?"

She asked directly, but her voice was still calm. He had resumed his position as councilmember during the trial and he had followed when she'd ordered him directly. But still, he'd also followed Sephtis a year ago. She wanted to know what he expected, where he saw himself and then think about it.

Althea accepted it with a gesture and leaned against Max side again, thought about the facts. It was a mess, but then he had shown his loyalty today. For the rest she would have to wait and see. A part of her realized, that she was a bit too relaxed right now, that leaning against Max could be interpreted as a sign of weakness, but she had a hard time to really care about it. She knew Hellbent long enough that they should have settled this anyway.

"Good."

She replied.

"I will see to your security clearance tomorrow."

“We should,” Max said, sitting up straighter and hardening his expression. This wasn’t Devaan. He sighed. Having a friend and an enemy in one body was going to be challenging.

He felt Althea leaning against him so he stay put for now, stacking the plates and utensils upon each other to make it easy to carry to the sink. It seems no one other than him had had their cake.
