I think activily storing identity whilest using a soul caster would instantly turn you into what ever your trying to soul cast and the opposite while tapping and bonus how would a nahel affect your identity in a metal mind from down under

I don't think so, myself. Identity is your sense of self and a "tag" to mark investiture as your own, so that others can't use it. Soulcaster savants like Kaza start becoming the element they use the most because of drastic changes to their spiritweb over time, from excessive use of investiture.

I don't really understand your second question.

Edit: I see this is your first post. Welcome to the Shard!

Why do you think that storing Identity would cause a Soulcaster to affect you instead of your target?

What is the opposite of turning you into whatever you're trying to Soulcast?  Turn the target object into yourself?

What does this mean?  Are you asking how Nahel bonds and metalminds work in Australia?  ;)

P.s. Welcome to the Shard!

Personally, I think that the self image identity, and capital I Identity are separate things.

I think Identity is only that "tag"

Either way, it still shouldn't affect soulcasting another object.

And Brandon's said that storing Identity would make it easier for you to get Soulcast or Forged, yourself.

Would a feruchemist actively storing identity be more susceptible to Forgery? Would more outlandish changes be able to take effect? Thanks for your time, and have a wonderful day.

Brandon Sanderson

Yes, if you store identity, it makes you susceptible to ALL KINDS of things in the Cosmere. Forgery would be on the short list.

Does the difficulty of effecting metals in a body with Allomancy have to do with identity?

Brandon Sanderson

No, more to do with the fact that most people are innately invested in the Cosmere--and certain planets have extra investiture. Something invested is more difficult to transform/move/etc with another form of investiture.

bubblebooy

That is what I had originally thought before you capitalized "ALL KINDS".Is soulcasting people like Jasnah Kholin did doubly hard since people a have a strong sense of identity and have innate investiture?

Brandon Sanderson

We're getting a bit far on this course, so it's time to pull out the RAFOs. I don't want to overplay my hand and leave the books without anything to talk about. :)

<snip because this really should be a separate entry>

Presumably how a Nahel bond would affect your ability to use unsealed and/or unkeyed metal minds from southern Scadrial.

The opposite of whatever happens when you store identity and soulcast; does tapping identity while soulcasting make you more effective?

It probably means that tapping Identity makes one less supceptible to the effects of long term Soulcaster use.  So get an unkeyed metalmind and store a large amount of Identity, tap when Soulcasting.  When the reserves get low, repeat the process.
