How about we don’t kill any spren?

Yes, let`s not do that.

However, Pattern seems to be pretty certain that Shallan will kill him. He should have good reasons. I assumed this would last only for a few hours as it was in Kaladin`s case. But it could also be true that Shallan changes to Team Odium.

If that happens, then Adolin should change sides too. The whitespine uncaged and the mad girl against Team Honor.

Adolin is never siding with Odium unless there are shard direct control levels direct involvement there.

So yeah no.

aehm, why are you so confident in an unshakable will for Honor in Adolin? This is bit of an off topic discussion. So maybe we should revert to a new thread? If Shallan changes for Odium, then Adolin can too. I think both is unlikely.

I doubt Adolin would sideswitch if Shallan did. He wouldn’t abandon the family. Adolin would be a great mafia in that regard.

In my mind, Shallan is much easier to lure with a random offer of taking away pain.

In OB, she pretends to be Brightlady Merchant Haughtypants

Hehe close enough! I refer to her as Brightlady Calpurnia Featherbottom when she's takes on that persona.

I don't think Shallan will join Odium. Adolin is a good influence on her and I think she and he will heal each other together. Plus at the end of OB, I think she was starting to turn a corner.

Simply because Adolin doesn't have issues of belonging or who his allegiances are. It is very clear to him who are friends and who are not. Unlike Shallan who kinda has loyalty/allegiances issue whose convictions depend (the willingness to murder a friend/parent ) on her mood and survival.

Another point would be it would be incredibly inconsistent to his character. He is pretty much set to his ways. I highly doubt he would betray dalinar for Shallan if that decision came pretty sure he'll just freeze up or help Dalinar.

Shallan is the dependent one in the relationship not Adolin even if it seems that Shallan wears the pants in the relationship

Kaladin even has more chance to go to the other side before he gave up about the "the ends justify the means" thing as he was at the point of willingness of giving up trust

Shallan on the other hand you are right that she is very mood-driven with the proper circumstances she could turn for Odium but that's already stretching it.

I agree Adolin has been using Dalinar as his lodestone, but that may be coming to an end. I hope he feels betrayed when he learns Dalinar killed his mother and lied about it. I don't completely discount the possibility that Adolin could fall to Odium, but I think it is unlikely.

Yeah I feel it's unlikely.for Adolin to turn to Odium. For one, even before finding out the truth about the unfortunate demise of his mother, he loves his father faults and all. I feel like their relationship has grown into a mature friendship and while it may be strained for a little, I can't fathom Adolin turning to Odium. Possible OB spoilers?

Spoiler

This would not even take into account his burgeoning relationship between himself and Maya. There has to be something special about this. We haven't seen other people on screen connect with their dead Shardblades the way Adolin has. I blame Evi. She was an amazing, strong and caring woman!

Renarin probably has already foresaw quite a bit about Shallan. With how the Unmade has destroyed her family and the Unmade's relationship to Odium, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Shallan absolutely hates him. The Unmade's/Oduim's influence on the Davar family can't be coincidental, perhaps she was to have been a "Radiant" with voidish powers, but Cultivation (I have a feeling it was her) "saved" her by sending Pattern. She's now in a good place with a "normal" family- the Kholin's and hopefully thier positive influence will rub off on Shallan's brothers. They need it, the poor dears.
