Shifting Shadows smiled. He filled out the form quickly, then handed it to the man.

After hearing the strange man explain how the hiring process was going to work, Fae began to grow apprehensive. She notoced that she had attuned the Rhythm of Anxiety, but decided it was fitting, as she walked over and read the sheet. How do I fill this out? If I write everything down and explain it there won't be room on the sheet. If I just write all Investiture he'll expect me to be way more powerful than I am. If I do this incorrectly I may not get this job.

Fae studied the sheet for a while, then attuning the Rhythm of Resolve, began to write.

Name: Fae'evren

Gender: Femalen

Address: Bedawn Inn, Outer Alleycity

Investiture forms: I have limited access to all forms of Investiture, though only one at a time, and I am only able to change types during an Alleystorm. Currently Feruchemical copper.

She then reread the form to ensure it was filled out properly, and legibly, then handed it to Zaphoid and asked, "How many people are you looking for sir? Just curious as to how many of us will be out of luck." As she said this, Fae wished she had access to Chromium right now so she could increase her chamces of being picked. Unfortunately the next Alleystorm wasn't due until tomorrow, so there wasn't even a chance of that happening.

Lusk tried to ignore another man's joke about watches, but couldn't help himself from snarling at the other woman. Torturing people like him? He'd like to see her try. "I could obliterate you in a second," he whispered. A bluff. He knew it. Lusk was just an Atium Ferring, he could store age and nothing else. How could he obliterate anyone? But the way he said it, the delivery, that was founded the trick. Taking a sheet, Lusk took his own pen out to write on it.

Name: Lusk Uwik

Gender: Male

Address: Ghostblood HQ, Oasis

Investiture forms: Atium Ferring.

Frowning, Lusk realised how bad he sounded with that weak power. After his threats, would anyone take him seriously? Taking the page back, he hastily scribbled a correction.

Investiture forms: Atium Ferring. FULLBORN

Good. This way nobody could sense his weakness. As long as no one asked him to prove it, Lusk was just about the most powerful man in the room. That pleased him.

Tena burst out laughing as she leaned over to see what the noble brat had written. "Fullborn?" she exclaimed. "Yeah. Sure. You just keep on telling yourself that, buddy." She patted the noble on the shoulder, grinning about the noble's comment about obliterating her. He likely was a cocky first-Oath Radiant, though why any spren would bond him baffled her. And if he wasn't that, maybe he was a Ferring or something.

Zaphoid cleared his throat as the participants started bickering. "Your attention, please. ", he said while counting the people who hadn't handed in their form yet. "I see one or two of you who haven't given me your form. You can decide later if you want to, but gve it back before 3 days from now. After that, you will have missed your chance to work with me."

As he waited for the people in the room to fill out their forms, he started looking through a few of them. Something in one of them caught his attention."Are you really a Fullborn? I'd like to see proof of that. Come see me tomorrow at noon and I will assess your powers. This is valid for any of you if you want to convince me of your ability. Tomorrow, noon here. This is not the test I've been speaking of, for those of you who are wondering. "

Tena gave Zaphoid a double thumbs-up and walked back to the ladder, then Steelpushed against a dropped coin to fling herself into the entrance room. She sauntered out of the building, dropped down next to the wall and swung her pack off her shoulder, opening it and pulling out a ghost sauce-drenched taco. She began to eat it, her very un-Vorin tastes satisfying.

Say, Archer, could Mace come on by? I mean, I don’t think he’s doing anything else.

Shifting Shadows smiled, then wanted away.

He walked up behind Tena. "Why do you humans have such little shove tolerance?"

Posted

"Shove tolerance?" Tena asked. "Maybe because our bones are so fragile. And, by the way, that applies to me too, so don't try to break my back or anything." She turned to him. "Shifting Shadows, right? Aren't you a Nightshade form?"

Posted

He smiled. "I know not what you speak of, this is the name I was given by friends." He reached down and scratched the ears of a wolf, his yellow eyes glinting.

Posted

“Hey, you have wolves too!” Tena exclaimed. “Are you their alpha male, because if so, which is your alpha female? Also, are all of these your pups?” She finished off her taco and licked her fingers, eyes watering a little from the spice.

Posted

Shifting Shadows smiled. "I am not the alpha. I am but one of the pack. Well, the packs." He grinned, pointing at a large black female lying in the corner. "She. She is alpha. We have no male Alpha now. He killed by twisted-pumpkin."

After Zaphoid spoke, Fae voiced her concern.

"How are you going to test certain types of Feruchemy? Like memory storage? Or are there only certain types of Feruchemy and Allomancy you are interested in? If you read my sheet, you'll see I can switch from one type of Investiture to another, kind of at random. But I can only do it during any Alleystorm. I don't know if that will disqualify me from participating here or not, but what would be the most useful to you? I believe an Alleystorm will be happening right before this test you mention, so I might be able to switch to something better." Fae was increasingly worried her Bane just might be what prevented her from getting to space.

Silently annoyed at the lady who continued to Tease him, Lusk handed in the sign up sheet. Surely she noticed one of the Ghostblood Council Members was right Here in front of her? He needed to get her Excommunicated. But that would involve support from the other Council members, something He wasn't of great supply right now, seeing as though his "secret weapon" against guilds, that dreaded Nolastname, ended up destroying All support in Oasis before becoming useless himself. "You should have trained him more," they said. Ugh. As if locking him in a room 100 feet underwater wasn't enough.

The man who ran this place, Zaphoid, spoke. He questioned whether Lusk was a Fullborn. "Of course I am," was the immediate reply. "Watch and I'll prove it now," he said, hesitantly pulling out a flake ofelectrum from a pocket. Just a regular piece of electrum. "This is an electrum-mind," he lied, and then popped the thing in his mouth. Nothing happened. "And boom, I just compounded Determination. Tell me now, you still need proof?"

Devaan walked in and smiled, surveying everyone in the room. He recognised some, but not most.

Lusk was here. That power-hungry ghostblood was pretending to be a full born.

Tena and Mace. The people who robbed his vault, he nodded to them.

He filled in the note:

Name: Devaan Sheonar

Gender: Male

Address: Devaan's training grounds, Seran range.

Investiture: Full Feruchemist

Signature: D.C.S

Tena and Tarsaan robbed the vault, and Tarsaan is dead.

Tena saw Devaan and bowed, not wanting to get him mad. She then turned back to Shifty (as she’d already nicknamed him) and said, “Nice pack, brother. Do you hunt well?”

Shifting Shadows looked at her. "Hunt well. Do I... Hunt well... " His foot shot out, and he snagged a passing eat and ate it.

Mace 'More Evil Than Hellbent' Klasten waited until no one was paying attention to him. When everyone else in the room began to engage in conversation or read paperwork, he moved to the side of the room to get exercise. Dropping to the floor, he started doing push-ups.

As he did, he extended his amberite aether out of his palm in the shape of a spike. It pierced the floorboards. As quietly as he could, Mace dug out a small hole with it. Then, under the guise of doing some planking, he took a metal tube from his pocket about the size of a golf pencil and placed it in the hole. He hoped it would look like a nail if anyone noticed it.

His task completed, Mace stood back up. He burned steel momentarily to see if it would seem out of place. To his surprise, it didn't because of the large amount of metal below the room. I wonder what that's all about? He experimentally tugged on one of the lines. A faint thunk noise could be heard in response.

I hope that wasn't important.

Tena waved at Shifty, then Steelpushed onto a roof and stood up on top of a chimney, shading her eyes with her hand and scoping out the area. She saw what she was looking for, a nice tall church, then Steelpushed over to it and landed on the ridge of the roof, quickly sitting down on the edge and pulling open her pack, taking out another cold Klastenified taco and devouring it. She looked around the huge Alleycity, the crater a visible, err, crater in the distance. She watched all the people walking around, that always let her fall into a half-dose sort of state.

"If you can really change Investiture almost anytime you want, don't worry about the test. Honestly, you may be the most important one on the team. I'm suspicious about that Fullborn, he doesn't seem like one", Zaphoid told the anxious woman with the carapace. He turned around and Steelpushed up the ladder to get some fresh air, and saw some of his would-be employees fighting. One of them was apparently using a baby as a weapon to block her opponent's attacks. Zaphoid sighed and kept walking.Things like this are normal in Alleycity, Zaphoid thought to himself. I wonder how things are going to turn out...
