I keep coming across talks about how two new metals are left to be revealed, but I have my confusions regarding this matter!

Is this statement made in reference to harmony's statement in the 'words of founding', because I believe that chromium bendalloy were discovered only after the trilogy, and the two metals might refer to these two metals!

Or is this statement made in reference to miles 'hundredlives' last words: 'One day, the men of gold and red, bearers of the final metal, will come to you. And you will be ruled by them.'???

There are 'two' metals that haven't been discovered Nicrosil and, umm... One moment. *Checks Wiki* Chromium. Nicrosil acts like Duralumin on someone else. Chromium is Aluminum to someone else. Cadium and Bendalloy are the Temporal metals. Not Chromium and Bendalloy.

There's also near infinite Atium/lerasium alloys.

EDIT: Oh, and Welcome to the Forum! Watch out for staffers with Spikes. :D

The 'final metal' might be sazedium, or perhaps something like raysium, if Odium ever decides to take a quick vacation on Scadrial. I don't think it's any of the base sixteen metals, because they're not particularly terrifying.

Wasn't there a WoB that there were 50 something metals? Does anyone have a link to that?

I could see the potential of there being hundreds of alloys. The third trilogy might be full of combinations, dualborns, twinborn, fullborn, larasium additions, spiked.

FIRE ARCADIA

Are there 50 Allomantic Metals?

BRANDON SANDERSON

Nearly. Does Harmony have a metal?

FIRE ARCADIA

Is that an alloy of Lerasium and Atium?

BRANDON SANDERSON

You're along the right lines.

Here you go.

So, let's see if I've got this straight:

16 "normal" metals

Atium (Ruin's god metal)

The 16 atium alloys

Lerasium (Preservation's god metal)

16 lerasium alloys

That's exactly 50 metals.

Sazedium (Harmony's god metal) and its 16 alloys would bring us to a total of 67 metals.

Raysium doesn't sound like it would be possible. While I do understand that the god metals are bits of the Shards' power, I remember reading a WoB that it might be harder for Odium to make a metal for himself or something like that. Maybe it has to do with the fact that there aren't any humans on Scadrial that Odium helped make…?

There are actually more than 16 alloys for each of the god metals:

17th Shard

Are there a limited amount of atium and lerasium alloys for each metal?

Brandon Sanderson

Hmm, yes…I suppose there would be but there are…

17th Shard

More than sixteen?

Brandon Sanderson

Yeah, way more than sixteen.

17th Shard

Oh wow. Okay. That's fascinating. More than sixteen and less than infinite.

Brandon Sanderson

Yes.

On the subject of Odium being lured to Scadrial and "raysium":

Shadowsaber223

If Odium were lured to Scadrial, would his physical body turn into a burnable metal? If so, could Harmony create an Odium-metal legion of Mistings to consume and burn it? Would that weaken him sufficiently enough to be killed or destroyed?

Brandon Sanderson

The difficulty here is, again, one of Identity. People born on Scadrial have an Identity tied to it and its magic. Odium would have to do certain things to make them able to use a magic he fuels. He has done these things on Roshar, so it's not impossible for him to manage it on Scadrial.
