Aashyma she/her Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I was reading Warbreaker when I noticed this: From the Prologue: Vasher could, of course, have up to the Fifth Heightening at any time, if he wished. BS has said that Returned can suppress their Divine Breath-which is how he can attain the Fifth Heightening anytime he pleased. This implies that Returned are of the Fifth Heightening. BUT in Chapter Three we find out: Returned were of the Eighth Heightening. [/quot]So which is it? Quotes are from the e-book downloaded from Sanderson's website, version 6.1
darniil he/him Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Page 49? The copy I just accessed from Sanderson's website said Fifth Heightening. Edited August 30, 2011 by darniil
TheBobs he/him Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Yeah, the ebook you're looking at has a typo. The version I have confirms Fifth in chapter 3.

Chaos he/him Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Yup, looks like that version has a typo. It's definitely supposed to be Fifth Heightening. I'm looking at the hardcover PDF (which you can also download) and it looks like that typo was fixed at that point.

It's an important plot point, given the powers listed in the Ars Arcanum for people who reach the fifth heightening.
Aashyma she/her Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 At first I thought it was just a typo but the audiobook by Graphic Audio had the same error so thanks for clearing it up guys
