Draginon he/him Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Are there any characters you think wouldn't cope or do well if they were on any of the other worlds? Siri I doubt would be happy if she lived on Era 1 Scadrial with the lack of color Lift would probably starve if she got stuck in Elantris during the Reod Some of the more scholarly guys like Elend and Raoden would be ostracized on Roshar for daring to be feminine 2
goody153 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Agree with Siri on classical Scadrial and Elend on Roshar would do poorly. Kaladin would also do poorly on classical Scadrial.
Toaster Retribution he/him Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Nale would be very unhappy inside Elantris, since the place was lawless for a while.
king of nowhere Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) Anyone would do poorly in classical scadrial, as the world was fairly crappy. Some people would just fare worse than others. Huh. I'm thinking now at nale during ashworld scadrial trying to stop kelsier and his team because they are breaking the law... Edited October 11, 2018 by king of nowhere 1
Quantus he/him Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 I think Nale would really hate the capricious decadence of the Court of Gods, but be stuck obeying them and hate that too. Vasher would starve for Investiture in most places, without taking steps to plug in to their Investiture sources. Post-Warbreaker Siri would probably really chafe at Rosharan society and gender roles even more than the Court of Gods. Most Era-two Scadrial folks would not have enjoyed Era 1 so much, as a general statement. OB Dalinar would not have approved of The Lord Ruler's style at all. Lightsong would have HATED how damnably serious everyone in Era1 Scadrial was, and at all the senseless sport-like killing on Roshar. 3
+Child of Hodor Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Oooh fun topic! Jasnah would have hated Nalthis and Scadrial era 1 with the court of the gods and TLR. So many false gods being worshiped, but they are physically present and immortalish with tremendous magical powers making it harder to prove they aren't gods. Also, in Era 1 book learning in history and religion (two of Jasnah's main interests) was heavily restricted by the steel ministry and there was Ruin changing what is written. As a scholar she would be incredibly frustrated. Kaladin and his seasonal affective disorder would have had a hard time on era 1 Scadrial with the ash blocking direct sunlight and making everything gloomy. As @king of nowhere said everyone would hate era 1 Scadrial.
Draginon he/him Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Yeah, so many would be unhappy on Era 1 Scadrial but I was thinking more on "who would be worse off than the native characters" where that was concerned. Silence for instance would probably do well since she's all about surviving against hardships (really when you think about it she'd be better off on Era 1 Scadrial since there's no threat of Shades there)
