I didn't really pay attention to this thread so this might have been asked already, but please ask Brandon if (Word of Radiance spoilers)

Hoid can see the spren that hold things together when a lashing is used, like the ones that show up when Kaladin's testing his abilities in the chasms with Sigzil & Lopen & etc.

No idea if it's too late to ask, but I want to know if the in-world Book of Endless pages is still going to be significant.

About Hoid/Shallan - Due to this piece of dialogue (emphasis mine)

"He gave me only a brief message for your father, and that only because I mentioned I would be travelling in this direction."

"Oh! I assumed he'd sent you here. I mean, that coming to us was your primary purpose."

"Turns out it was. Tell me, young one. Do spren speak to you?

I get the impression Hoid WAS looking for Shallan, but was surpirsed because he did not expect to find her where he did. And I only just consciously realised that Hoid met Helaran. I wonder what that was all about.

Edit: and do we need to be spoiler-tagging this discussion? I'm totally confused about that.

Could someone please point me in the direction of the WoB on Ashyn being shardless? I want the original source for my List over Cosmere planets.

The quote is in this thread, search for Silence Divine. The transcription added the book name in...

BUT

Brandon mistakes Shadows for Silence and Silence Divine in other quotes. The former does not have a shard, and is confirmed as such. It is possible that either Brandon or the transcriber made an error there. In other quotes regarding Ashyn, Brandon calls it a shard world (and not a minor shard world as he calls Threnody), calls it an important planet, refers to it as having a magic system, and had planned a full scale novel for it. He doesn't confirm it has a shard. It also meets the criteria he sets out for shard made magic systems (magic you have to use, as opposed to just ambient cosmere magic).

Thus, it is possible Ashyn either has a shard or had one at some point, despite the quote.

I took a look at it, and it does seem like he might have been thinking of Threnody. I'll just leave the number of Shards as "unknown" for now.

Here is the quote in question:

Q:  Can you tell us which Shard is with [The Silence Divine]?

A:  This is a world that does not currently have a Shard.

I thought the same thing, however when i listened to the audio it is quite clear he is talking about Ashyn.  The questioner actually says something along the lines of  "What is the shard of the world of he story you read earlier?" And Brandon read from the The Silence Divine novella.

I have some trouble downloading it for myself, so I'll take your ward for it. My List shall be updated accordingly.
