Toaster Retribution he/him Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 (edited) We haven´t had a fight thread for a while, and this matchup feels fun. So: Eshonai has Plate and Blade. Nale has his Honorblade and a knife. His spren has gone on a vacation, so he doesn´t have two Blades. For the same reason, he lacks Plate too. Elend has a sword, a coin pouch and metals. Wax has his standard guns, including the shotgun, and a filled metalmind. Kelsier has obsidian knives, a coin pouch and metals. Note that this is TFE Kelsier. Vivenna has a rope, a dead squirrel, a thousand breaths and her Blade. The metals, and Nales Stormlight, are enough for twenty minutes use. No atium allowed. Go! Wreith he/him Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Atium limitation is irrelevant since you have a mistborn on both sides Kelsier kills Elend almost instantaneously, having no hesitation with the concept, by shooting a coin and throwing a blade at the same time Elend's less experienced reaction moves to block the coin he can sense and takes the knife in the gut. If Kaladin's lashed kick in the arena can crack plate, I'm confident a steel push assisted storm of bullets can. So Wax takes Eshonai pretty quickly. Vivenna holds Nale off long enough for the other two engagements to end. Nale is then torn apart by coins from Wax and Kelsier.... ...only to return the next day because he's a herald and they can do that. Vivenna and Wax eventually succumb to exhaustion and are killed. Kelsier does too, but himself being a cognitive shadow, also manages to find a way back. Eons of fighting between Kel and Nale eventually give way to regular pancake eating contests, Nale having developed an affinity for them due to the influence of a certain ten year old. 2

Ponder that Kelsier kills Elend as quickly as you said. He would then have an automatic win ticket over the others. 1

Story still ends the same since Kelsier's supply would be limited.

Most important note, IMO. I honestly feel this turns into a 2 on 1 match real quick: Nale and Eshonai chasing Kelsier. Nale lives through a shotgun blast to the chest to kill Wax. Not to mention Elend can push/pull his guns to shake his aim. A wildcard is how much Vivenna is able to harness the offspring of Returned super abilities. Denth used his Returned ability so he could swing a sword so fast nobody can see him draw or sheath it. Can Vivenna do similar feats of ability or can she only slightly change her image? But this may all be a moot point, because Awakening will be only a mild hindrance to a super suit and a Surgebinder. She's fought for 25-300 years, Nale's fought for thousands. Even if you gave her a few of Kalad's Phantoms, Eshonai would handle them well, I'd bet. I'll take Team Nale. IMO, Wayne would have been more useful than Wax is here. Bendalloy FTW! Give Kelsier time to plan and Wayne just soaks up attention and damage. Also, we get a encore of "The Rotten Tomato".
Quantus he/him Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Does Wax have a decent supply of his Aluminum Bullets? That would go a very long way to ensuring his victory, as it would level the playing field back to more normal situations where firearms tend to trounce sword & armor.

goody153 Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Think Eshoihai, Nale and Elend simply because of overall ability to fight, familiarity with midair combat(Nale especially has like 10k years experience of it or something) and competence. Also Nale can heal. Eshohai is mostly invincible (shardplate) and well Elend has the most broken steelpush of the group.
Almas Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I personally think Elend would defeat Vivenna just based on his raw power. Nale's Gravitation is a pretty strong counter to Kelsier's Iron and Steel. I think Wax could destroy Plate fairly easily with his guns, steelpushes, and stored weight. He's also mobile enough to counter Eshonai's speed. If it came to that exact scenario I think if Elend could get the first defeat against Vivenna fast enough and team up against Wax, he and Eshonai could win that battle. I also think Nale, Eshonai, and Elend could defeat Kelsier together, but one or two would die. Now if Wax gets the first defeat against Eshonai and assists Vivenna. I believe it would go the other way. I also think Eshonai would defeat Vivenna fast if they swapped. Elend and Wax is hard it could go either way, but with an assist from Eshonai again Wax is done. I think Nale vs Kelsier alone is a long drawn out battle that could go either way and whoever gets help would win. Kelsier or Nale in a 1v1 with anyone else will easily win IMO. Assuming it's a messier fight with Kelsier multitasking, Nale lashing people upward, Vivenna getting time to find and set up objects to awaken. Every scenario could have a different outcome...
What's a Seawolf? Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I'm extraordinary biased. In Kelsier vs the Cosmere, I'd take Kelsier. So a measly 3 opponents? Kelsier and crew.
LiquidBlue Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Give it to Nale and crew, because Nale. His experience is probably the deciding factor here, but when you look at what he can actually do, I don't think that Kelsier, Wax, and Vivienna have a good counter. The three abilities that put him over the edge are surgebinding gravitation, surgebinding division, and healing. His opponents really don't have anything that can get through his healing, Kelsier and Wax will be hard pressed to match his mobility, and we haven't even seen what Division looks like, but I think that it is pretty devastating. If you allow Nale to keep his shard plate from being a 5th level radiant, it is only icing on the cake. I think that the only thing that could really shut Nale down is if Kelsier is able to use Chromium to drain all of Nale's stormlight.

Since we never saw Nale with Plate, I temporarily forgot that he had it. But it will be too uneven with Plate, so I edited the OP. For this fight he doesn’t have any.
