timasp he/him
I'm making a conlang for Alethi! For those who don't know what a conlang is, it's a constructed language, or a language that people in that world speak. It will have a real grammar, vocabulary, all that. I'm making on ConWorkShop, which is a specialised website. NiceBleach
Would you credit Gavilar with uniting Alethkar? Makes sense, I guess. He's the king. Maybe also credit Dalinar and Sadeas. Doesn't really matter much.
Slimy_Slider
This is amazing. Where did you get the words, is it an extract from things that Brandon has confirmed, words in the books or mostly extrapolated from a few things we already know?
Llarimar he/him
This is really cool! My favorite part is that you have [d͡ʒ] pronounced as [j] in the lighteyed dialect - that totally settles the Jasnah/Yasnah debate!

My favorite part is that you have [d͡ʒ] pronounced as [j] in the lighteyed dialect - that totally settles the Jasnah/Yasnah debate! It's not a debate. The J in Jasnah is a y sound. Same with the modern forms of Jezrien, like Jezerezeh, thou Jezrien's name itself was actually a hard J. With darkeyes a hard J is more common like with Jost. Quote Questioner So, how do you pronounce [Jasnah's] name? Brandon Sanderson They use the J as a Y. But you don't have to say it that way, you can say it how you want. Because they actually use a guttural, sort of Middle-Eastern <koh>, which is in Kholin. You can say the names however you want, but that is the pronunciation style that I'm using. It's very Semitic, the language family. source Trying, and failing, to find the one on Jezrien...

Pagerunner he/him
How do you plan on incorporating the expanded canon vocabulary going forward? For example, some of what you've created for your dictionary, we got in Oathbringer.
timasp he/him
Hello everyone, I havenn't checked this thread in FOREVER, so hoping this isn't considered a necro by the rules, I'm gonna answer some things.@Slimy_Slider I got most of the words on my own. Some are canon or inspired off of the English words for said thing (I'm referring to words like crem and spren, which have very english phonotactics) @Secrets Nope! I'll leave the glyphs to people with drawing skills. I'm just gonna make words and grammar@Pagerunner I'm just gonna keep guessing the words, making allowances for new vocabulary in new books. I am a bit scared, especially with regards to some of the darkeyed names, that really don't fit in with the phonotactics of the language
