Conan

I've known about the new Conan movie for over a year now and I've been excited. For some reason the preview looks pretty silly to me. I'll still go watch it this weekend out of curiosity.

It also doesn't follow the original movie story of Conan. I know Robert Jordan helped write some of the novels but I haven't read any to know the storyline.

Has anyone read the books? I know this appeared as #1 on the longest fantasy series list that was floating around not to long ago.

I saw the preview and totally didn't recognize Jason Momoa. I loved him in Stargate Atlantis but he sure looks different without a beard, and with his hair not dreaded.

I assume the movie is supposed to be over-the-top and in-your-face about what it is. It's a Conan movie.

I haven't read any of the books.

I've never read the conan books, but i've always wanted to. It's always been one of those things thats on my agenda but always a "After X and Y" sort of thing.

In regards to the movie, i don't really plan on seeing it. The best conan movie(s) that could have possibly been made has all ready been made, and it involves the governator.

I just saw a review that said it was boring. It wasn't over the top in any way that hadn't been done a million times according to the review.

My husband and I caught up on all the stargates within the last year thanks to netflix. That's how I found out about Conan while looking up some characters on imdb.

It looks like I'll be placing this on the back burner for reading as well. I have a long list already.
