Wyndlerunner he/him Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Would anyone who has one of the leatherbound editions, specifically TFE or Elantris be willing to give their thoughts on whether or not they're worth the $100 price tag?
Green Hoodie Mistborn he/him Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 That's a hard and pretty subjective question. They are beautiful. They feel good, they look amazing, they have lots of extra art and fun stuff inside. $100 is a lot though. I've been buying them as they come out once a year, so I'm using my Birthday/Christmas $ to buy them. I think it's worth it, but it's a lot of money for a book that is going to look pretty on a shelf and rarely get read/opened (I re-read my kindle versions, not the leatherbound editions!), so depends on how you want to spend your hard earned $ 1
Wyndlerunner he/him Posted June 20, 2018 Author Posted June 20, 2018 I thank you for your thoughts, @Green Hoodie Mistborn I just didn't have anyone around to really get a review from. As a purely physical reader, I think it'll be worth it. (Also, I love the image in your Sig) 1
Green Hoodie Mistborn he/him Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Thanks and I hope you enjoy your purchase! Just keep it away from pets, children, other people and their dirty hands, etc...

A Secret Corner he/him Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 @Wyndlerunner My first physical book of Brandon's is a Dragonsteel edition of TFE... It's beautiful... it looks awesome, all sorts of stuff. The inside covers are art. In the front of the book is a bunch of art, as well as some maps. The paper is awesome, the leather cover is awesome, all sorts of things. If you want an awesome version of the book, a true collectors addition that you can treasure, these things are for you, so long as you have the money to spare.

Andy92 Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 (edited) If you’re into collector’s items I’d say it’s worth it. I have all 3 of the current leatherbounds that are available. They look great, just keep in mind they’re really more for show than they are for reading. My $8 paperbacks tell the same story lol. But as far as the quality, the artwork, the feel of the pages, etc...they’re amazing quality. I’ve seen other leatherbounds that don’t come close to matching these. Edited June 23, 2018 by Andy92
Wyndlerunner he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 So I finally received my Leatherbound TFE. Tis' in fact the crown jewel of my entire bookshelf. Thanks y'all for your advice, it was a worthwhile purchase. 1
