[OB] Kilauea and Ashyn

If Brandon is going to write anything about Ashyn, I hope he takes some time to visit Kilauea while it is still erupting. Even just watching the feeds and videos of the eruption have given me a different perspective on just how intense it is. 

Ashyn is supposed to be a lava planet, with a number of floating cities, following the destruction alluded to in Oathbringer. This would be getting to see that first-hand. He really needs to do that, IMHO.

That would be interesting if he was able to visit it, but I wouldn't risk it if I were him. No matter how it could help influence how he writes the Ashyn world, experts say that it is really dangerous to be there right now and that the volcano could start erupting even worse at any time. There would be warning signs, but I don't want to risk Brandon dying just for some possible research opportunities.

Also, please edit your topic to have [OB] in the title since it references info from the book.

Brandon has been to Hawaii (he mentions this several times in the context of writing Warbreaker) so he may well have already seen lava flows under much safer conditions, or if he really needed to he could go again sometime when he's settled down to write The Silence Divine. Or he could watch any number of recordings of volcanic events including what's happening right now.

I do strongly agree that I want to keep Brandon safe. That would be a very ironic end. But I also say, that there is nothing to replace personal experience, especially with something so visceral as a lava world. You need that experience to convey what it really is like, because so few of us have even seen lava, much less an eruption like this.

I've seen lava and fire. King Koopa spits, there are lava pits in lots of video and mario can shoot fireballs after eating a flower
