Hiya,

I'm just following what it told me to do!

Fan of Mistborn and Stormlight Archive books, as well as Scribbler (or The Rithmatist idk), came here looking for clues as to the existence of the second book, The Aztlanian. Then found that you guys are awesome so I'm staying.

Fellow Rithmatist fans, I'm building an App for Rithmatic Duels, feel free to message if you want in, always looking for more hands!

Bye for now!

Hello and have an upvote!

Usually we greet each other here by saying "my life to yours, my breath become yours" but you gotta say it with meaning!

You go first! :)

Welcome, @Fantagio101 Have an upvote! What is your preferred Rithmatic defense to use? If you don't want to give away your breath or eat a cookie, you could have a penguin!*

Thank you, I feel very welcomed!

Thank you also for the offer of the Penguin, I will have to consider before deciding if I will take you up on it :)

I would say my chosen rithmatic defense is either the Jordan or Ballintain, as I am a fan of drawing chalklings and am very proud of them!

@Fantagio101 A rithmatic dueling app?!? That sounds amazing. Would you do it in a PvP style, or what? Whenever you finish it, please do share it with the community. :D

What type of chalklings do you draw?

Haha thanks, I hope it will be good! Only in planning stages at the moment, but when finished, of course its for everyone. So far it will have two modes;

  • PVE- 'The Tower' fighting Wild Chalklings on the front lines
  • PVP- 'Competitive' duelling...

Whats your view? Is it worth doing both, or would competitive be more popular? Opinions are always useful :D

My chalklings are Rhino-looking-(ish), but with clubbed tail(s) like a type of dinosaur that I cannot remember the name of. However, sometimes they turn out more like fat sheep.. oh well, they're good at absorbing hits!

What about your chalklings? And your favourite type of defense? :)

@Fantagio101 Those both sound like great game modes. I feel that an app is likely to be more successful if there is some opportunity for variety, at least in the long run, as there is more replay value. The competitive will likely be more used, but if you do a good job on the PvE, it will ultimately be the balance the game needs to keep players from getting bored and quitting.

That's my two cents.

For my defense, I'd love to say Taylor, but I'd be lying to myself. I'm awful at drawing circles, and would likely end up with a defense weaker than drawing a box around myself. :D

In all honesty, I'd probably draw a Ballintian and focus on hitting the opponent with lines of vigor and lots of chalklings.

Chalkling wise, I'd probably draw crabs with sword like claws for defense and eagles on offense.

That sounds AWESOME, @Fantagio101. Have some upvotes! How do you plan to incorporate chalklings in the app? Will players have like a hotbar of pre-drawn chalklings to choose from on the side, and when they click the chalkling it lays out the pattern, and then they trace it, and the more accurate they are the more powerful? That's how I always saw a Rithmatist Duel app but it might be a bit complicated... Everything else seems simple enough besides chalklings as far as turning it into an app goes, but I don't have near the coding ability to do so... wish I did, and good luck!

Haha wow I'm so so happy that people are interested in this!

@Mistspren, Thats so cool! Haha yes circles have to be practiced- Melody would know that all too well. Thank you very much for the feedback! I agree for the game-modes, Competitive would be the main game-mode, with The Tower being sort of like training/Practice realms, but both needed to keep interest! I thought maybe if there was a player-base,in the distant future, a patch could be brought out that was a 'push' from the wild chalklings; they are harder to beat but give more reward or something; reward is something that must be worked out.

@Prince Dusty, interesting you should mention  the chalklings, as its what we've been discussing only yesterday! I think for our first version, it will be a pick-from-a-drop-down-list basis. Once this is up and running, we'd work on maybe having an area where users could add their own chalklings to that list - but then we'd have to work out how to 'rank' them; strength, attack etc. Maybe, in the far future, players could even draw new chalklings while in game; very far future though! About the tracing; I hadn't thought of that! That is an absolutely awesome idea thank you very much! If we decide to implement it, your name will go in the design credits :) . Haha yes the coding will be the most difficult, but if you want you could still be involved in testing it out for us when we have a working version? No worries if you wouldn't be interested/ don't have time.

Thank you once again to everyone for all the enthusiasm!

@Fantagio101 I could be involved in testing?! That would be so cool, I would absolutely love to! Please contact me if I can, my friends and I have always talked about how great an app would be, planning out how it would work and everything, but we've never had the ability/known anyone who did that could make one... You're making a lot of dreams come true!
