+Aletus he/him Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 WoR Signing WoB on Honorblades: Honorblade? You can't bond an honorblade, though it can be given to you. (Only now as I write this do I realize he didn't fully answer it, lol) Shardblades, however, come from a spren bond and it is possible to bond more than one. that was when asked if you could bond more than one honorblade Directly contradicts the following from the text: You did, and you died. Your bond to your Blade severed, all ties—both spiritual and physical—undone WoR Ebook: Page 1184, Nalan to Szeth The only thing I can assume would be an error, or he was simply playing to Szeth's beliefs - but Szeth seems to have kinda solid knowledge of the honorblades. Credit to Jam for that thought. 1

That doesn't mean there isn't a bond, just not one you can choose on your own.
Shardlet he/him Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I fully agree with Blackwood. I brought this same thing up in a topic I posted later than this. Szeth was bonded to the blade in such a manner that he could summon and dismiss it. Personally, I think there was a communication breakdown between Brandon and the person who asked. But, I want to know more about this.
Aleksiel Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 According to the quote, Szeth had spiritual and physical bonds with the Honorblade and my impression of Shardblades is of a cognitive connection (they are spren after all), so it's different.
deddinty Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 There could be other explanations as well. For example, maybe if we assume the Shin have the honorblade that would correspond to the bondsmiths, it could be possible to forcibly bond the honorblade. I think we need clarification from Brandon on this, but I'm willing to bet this is RAFO bait especially as book 3 is Szeth's.
name_here Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I think there was a context-related breakdown in communication, and Brandon means you can't nahel-bond an honorblade because it's not a spren.
