Hey everybody I recently saw your site while searching Brandon Sanderson fansites and when I saw what a great community you all had here I couldn't resist joining. My name is David and I recently became a Sanderson fan when I picked up The Way of Kings at my library because it was the biggest book I could find. I couldn't put it down and within a few weeks I'd read every published book of his except his two Wheel of Time ones. I'm looking forward to making some new friends with you all and discussing the cosmere! :D

Hey there David :) great to see you over here. Big books are awesome :D

Thanks Joe ST and Adrienne, some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, the Shadowmarch books by Tad Williams (although I never got around to getting the last one read), the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, and the Belgariad and the Mallorean by David Eddings. As is fairly obvious my favorite books are in the fantasy genre. What are your other favorite books?

Welcome to the forums! Hopefully you'll learn plenty while you're around here about the cosmere, and have a good time doing it. As far as the wheel of time goes, i personally highly recommend that series, especially since brandon is finishing it. It's very very long, though, so you probably won't be reading one of the books brandon wrote for at least 6 months to a year if you started right now and kept to it pretty hard. That is unless you're some kind of crazy speed reading person who can read a good 800-1100 page book (and 10 more after that) in a matter of days.

I'm definitely a fan via the WoT connection. It will be nice to see the Eragon series finish sooner than later. I know I'll still finish the Mistborn story first but I wish they had different release dates!

He is not kidding.

Hello there!

I have yet to delve into the Wheel of Time either, so you're in good company here.

I'm Eric, the forum admin and the guy who spends too much time theorizing. If you ever have any questions about the cosmere, I'd be happy to answer them, as I'm sure almost everyone else here would love to!

Hey again everyone, sorry for getting so far behind on my responses. I didn't mean to be rude. I was on a sort of mini-vacation and there was no time for the computer. Adrienne I agree that I'll be reading Alloy of Law before Inheritance, I was so disappointed when book three was split! I'm still working my way through WoT and I've just started on the Dragon Reborn. So far I've yet to get into it as much as I did for the Way of Kings but I'm hopeful that I will become more immersed the farther I go. Thanks to everyone for your warm welcomes I feel at home already!

Hey there Windrunner, you shouldn't worry about your response time, we're all to busy reading (or theorising, in Eric's case) to mind :D

A Shadowmarch reread is on my todo list, probably after I've finished Malazan (in under a month >.> lol), Tad's other stories are great too. I hope you get into WoT since I enjoyed it soooo much, though it's been eclipsed a little since starting Brandon and Rothfuss (and now, as I said, Malazan...which fills my quota for big books XD).

Joe
