Delightful Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 So I think I've already posted here, but one moment I keep going back to, that I think is the most awesome in the book- Right before Kal speaks the 3rd oath. He can't walk, his legs are bleeding, his depressed from The Weeping, he's alone and he realises he can't let the king be assassinated. He literally drags himself up to the palace, fights off guards, drags the king along the corridor. Still bleeding heavily from his legs, barely able to walk. Then his ex-best friend says that killing Elhokar is more important to him than Kaladin's life. Moash SHARDPLATE-PUNCHES Kaladin, leaving him with broken ribs and most likely major internal injuries. Kal is practically Hoed and Elhokar is unconscious. And then Kal drags himself back up in major pain, barely even able to support himself on his spear, gets into battle stance and declares "You. Will. Not. Have. Him" . Especially keeping in mind, Kal doesn't know Syls about to come along and save the day. He basically thinks he's gonna die and he forces himself to stand and protect anyway. Takes my breath away every time. (No pun intended!). 2

Takes my breath away every time. (No pun intended!). I feel sad for Kaladin, though. He really had a great bromance going on with Moash, and it was heart-breaking to read that Moash held his revenge higher than his friendship and loyalty to "Kal". It only makes me appreciate even more the other members of Kaladin's inner circle, though. I am a bit worried about Teft (though it seems like his problem is alcoholism), but he, Lopen, Rock, Sigzil, Hobber, Skar etc. are all wonderful! By the way, I wonder if Renarin is going to stay in Bridge Four.
Dihatimus Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Favorite lines as read by kate reading: "I'm not crazy. I'm awesome!" “Difficult things,” Shallan growled. “Yes. I believe I told you. I’ve learned that lesson already. Thank you. "What if you need to poop?" Favorite things read by Michael kramer: "Hello, would you like to destroy some evil?" he sounded a lot like sulu saying Hellooo "I've liberated your stores, they were blowing by towards certain doom" "NOOOOO." Michael kramer whenever he shouts NO is something my friend and I always joke about. it happens in every book I have listened to him read. Favorite Pattern moment was when he was translating the dawnchant. Favorite Syl moment was her turning into a spear. Favorite scene was chasm scene with shallan and kaladin Favorite Hoid comment was him telling the story to kaladin with the disgusting bit of slime and an ugly crap thing with 17 legs. Favorite Hoid moment however was in shallans flashback. hoid is just...how can you not like the character! Favorite chapter was Lift's interlude Thing that made me laugh the hardest was Sebarial on the plateau when he was eating fruit and his mistress was reading a book. I could picture that scene like none other. Wind gusting things around, a shaking soldier awkwardly holding a plate of fruit, sebarial leaning back in a chair enjoying the view as men run around "screaming and wailing," funniest thing placed smack dab it the most tense part of the book. 1
