Peter, After listening to the chapter 7 preview I would challenge you to a duel on behalf of my favorite character. Shards at dawn.

Can you pleeeease tell them to put it up? By the way, I know she's alive, because of Tor's 'non-sloilery' reveiw. My book probably won't come for a week or two. :( welcome to the north.

Khyrindor, your "by the way"-sentence is defintiely a major spoiler, so either edit that out or put it in spoiler brackets, please?

It's just conjecture from pre-release material, so it's not really spoilers.

That's one way to look at it, but still... your mileage may vary?

Yea, I am willing to let it fly. It's a guess - maybe a good one, but still a guess. For all we know the Tor review (and namely the reaction entry that's like "Oh, you are such a heretic!") could have been brought up because of someone's memories of Jasnah (e.g. Dalinar says something like "Oh, and this one time Jasnah said that women who write works of fiction set in imaginary places are dumb as rocks" and so the reviewer from Tor goes "Heretic!").

Also, I spend far too much time coming up with hypothetical scenarios...

I quite like your hypothetical scenarios ;)

And yeah, I guess you're right. Sorry Khyrindor, overreaction on my part!

He also said "When Jasnah walked in.

this ones a bit more sensitive I guess. It was a non spoiler review

Well ;)

The non-spoiler-review things you are conjecturing to mean that Jasnah is still alive:

They don't mean what you think they mean.

I wanted to say something like this (since I already read the book), but figured I didn't have the authority to do so ;)

Pfft!

Kids these days, calling people out and arranging duels like it's as easy as snapping your fingers. What are the ground rules here? What about seconds? Have you even set a location? But no, it's just "meet me and we'd fight!" Boy, you might as well just jump each other in the back alley! Or drive by and go pew pew!

Now back in my time, we did it right. It's the surest sign of our failed education system when our kids don't even know how to kill each other properly.

Wait, I got it! Jasnah is alive. See, Silver has already read the book, and he thought that Khyrindor was saying that he knew Jasnah was alive and said that was a spoiler. Therefore, Jasnah alive = spoiler = true. YES!!!

Edit: And that's why s/he said your mileage may vary, since though it was a guess it's still true. Jasnah is aliiiive, Jasnah is aliive!

And Peter is a master troller. We need to stake him or honor him after the book comes out,I'm not sure which.

P.S: No, I have not read the book, which is why I can guess.  :D

Story of my life... Nothing ever means what I think it means... :*(

So is this the thread where we complain to Peter? Because the "look inside" on Amazon is killing me right now. They've got way too much stuff up there but it's all disjointed.

Maybe its lack of sleep but for some reason I'm now picturing Peter in the role of Inigo Montoya..   inconceivable!

Now he just needs to say  'Hello, my name is Peter Ahlstrom, you killed my character,  prepare to die.'

Really? There was a bunch of stuff before, but I can't get anything past chapter 1 anymore besides the Ars Arcanum.
