ddleg Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Peter, After listening to the chapter 7 preview I would challenge you to a duel on behalf of my favorite character. Shards at dawn. /sad
Who Sharded? Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 My immediate thought upon seeing the thread title: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0LjIp7Lqrc 3
PeterAhlstrom he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I'm not sure why they only put half of the chapter. Not that you'd be any happier if you had the second half. 14
Khyrindor he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Can you pleeeease tell them to put it up? By the way, I know she's alive, because of Tor's 'non-sloilery' reveiw. My book probably won't come for a week or two. welcome to the north. Edited March 26, 2014 by Khyrindor 3
Silver Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Khyrindor, your "by the way"-sentence is defintiely a major spoiler, so either edit that out or put it in spoiler brackets, please? Edited March 3, 2014 by Silver 4
DiamondMind he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Khyrindor, your "by the way"-sentence is defintiely a major spoiler, so either edit that out or put it in spoiler brackets, please! It's just conjecture from pre-release material, so it's not really spoilers.
Silver Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 It's just conjecture from pre-release material, so it's not really spoilers. That's one way to look at it, but still... your mileage may vary?
Argent he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yea, I am willing to let it fly. It's a guess - maybe a good one, but still a guess. For all we know the Tor review (and namely the reaction entry that's like "Oh, you are such a heretic!") could have been brought up because of someone's memories of Jasnah (e.g. Dalinar says something like "Oh, and this one time Jasnah said that women who write works of fiction set in imaginary places are dumb as rocks" and so the reviewer from Tor goes "Heretic!"). Also, I spend far too much time coming up with hypothetical scenarios... 3

Khyrindor he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 He also said "When Jasnah walked in. this ones a bit more sensitive I guess. It was a non spoiler review
Silver Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) He also said "When Jasnah walked in. this ones a bit more sensitive I guess. It was a non spoiler review Well Edited March 3, 2014 by Silver
PeterAhlstrom he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 The non-spoiler-review things you are conjecturing to mean that Jasnah is still alive: They don't mean what you think they mean. 11
Silver Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 The non-spoiler-review things you are conjecturing to mean that Jasnah is still alive: They don't mean what you think they mean. I wanted to say something like this (since I already read the book), but figured I didn't have the authority to do so
Colby Jack he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Pfft!Kids these days, calling people out and arranging duels like it's as easy as snapping your fingers. What are the ground rules here? What about seconds? Have you even set a location? But no, it's just "meet me and we'd fight!" Boy, you might as well just jump each other in the back alley! Or drive by and go pew pew!Now back in my time, we did it right. It's the surest sign of our failed education system when our kids don't even know how to kill each other properly. 7
Khyrindor he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 You two, are defiantly evil crushers of dreams. 1
DiamondMind he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Wait, I got it! Jasnah is alive. See, Silver has already read the book, and he thought that Khyrindor was saying that he knew Jasnah was alive and said that was a spoiler. Therefore, Jasnah alive = spoiler = true. YES!!! Edit: And that's why s/he said your mileage may vary, since though it was a guess it's still true. Jasnah is aliiiive, Jasnah is aliive! And Peter is a master troller. We need to stake him or honor him after the book comes out,I'm not sure which. P.S: No, I have not read the book, which is why I can guess. Edited March 3, 2014 by DiamondMind 3
Macen he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 The non-spoiler-review things you are conjecturing to mean that Jasnah is still alive: They don't mean what you think they mean. Story of my life... Nothing ever means what I think it means... :*(
Shardbearer he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 So is this the thread where we complain to Peter? Because the "look inside" on Amazon is killing me right now. They've got way too much stuff up there but it's all disjointed.
Azul he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 The non-spoiler-review things you are conjecturing to mean that Jasnah is still alive: They don't mean what you think they mean. Maybe its lack of sleep but for some reason I'm now picturing Peter in the role of Inigo Montoya.. inconceivable! Now he just needs to say 'Hello, my name is Peter Ahlstrom, you killed my character, prepare to die.' 3

Khyrindor he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 haha thats the UK's fault, Peter knows all about it.
Shardbearer he/him Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah, but I peeked, and already saw some minorish spoilers just by skimming.
