[OB] [Mistborn] Kaladin's Chapter Header

In taking a closer look at the chapter icon for Kaladin's chapters, I see a significant similarity to the Steel Alphabet/Metallic Symbols from Scadrial. The arcs and spikes from these are oddly similar to that of Lerasium:

It may be a reach, but could this be a shadow of what the symbol for Tanavastium might look like? Perhaps it's even the metal that Syl becomes when manifesting as a blade. But then that logically asks which metal Wyndle is as a Shardfork/rod. Is he the same metal as Syl, or is he Reyatium/Cultivasium :). And then, is Pattern some alloy of the two?

There is some weird similarities there. Are there any other Steel Alphabet letters that are closer?

I have no idea why we would be seeing something like this. Let's just keep an eye open on this.

One possibility, is the quasi-Hemalurgy when the dagger was used on Jezrien, but I am still doubtful. (yes, there is a recent WoB that this is similar, could be seen as, Hemalurgy)

What's with the Stormlight Chapter symbols, and their similarity to other Cosmere symbols? I guess this is specifically talking about Kaladin and Shallan's symbols, and their resemblance to an Allomantic symbol and an Aon, respectively.

Is this just showing Roshar's place as significant in the Cosmere? Is there a reason those specific symbols were chosen for those characters? Anything you'd want to share, I'll take.

Brandon Sanderson

The meaning of Kaladin's symbol will be made manifest eventually. The connection to an Allomantic symbol, however, is mostly coincidental. (Both were drawn by Isaac.)

So no connection to Mistborn, but there is some meaning we might be unaware of. May be Kal will turn it into his House symbol.

Did anyone ever attempt to draw the symbol that's on the flag? I think there's enough visible that we can take a pretty good stab at it.

Probably, but I don't remember. It looks like stylized sas glyph to me.

I haven't seen this WoB before, and I don't know when it's from, but I would venture a guess at the moment that Kaladin's symbol represents him leading his squires/Bridge 4.

I probably should have added source, too  It's from 2015, so after WoR. I can't think of anything fitting this in OB, my guess is it's still to come. That's why I suggested his House glyph, but it could be something else.

If you're right that it's the Sas glyph, didn't we learn from the Hearthstone chapters in OB that you can see Kaladin was enslaved in Sadeas' princedom with those glyphs? So it's technically kinda like the highprince glyph? (It's probably not, but oh well). Maybe it's Jasnah thinking that she needs to appoint a new Highprince, and picking the person who would piss off Amaram the most from the afterlife.. Shame I can't actually see Jasnah making this decision. But it would be amusing. ;)

Well, the Sadeas highprince did die... again  Anyone on board the Ialadin ship? No?

Oh I meant it in more of a general sense, not a specific scene. Of course most other Symbols I can remember we have at least "seen" once iirc, so it could be a future scene.

Well, Brandon said the meaning will manifest eventually, so I'd expect a future scene or something. Otherwise I thought it was him as a captain of Bridge Four, because there are four spears and his above them as symbol of leadership, but apparently not.
