So I've been visiting 17th Shard for years and years, as well as Coppermind.net, so I figured it was time to come into the stormlight. (And, I wanted to register for the Oathbringer dust jacket.)

Let's see, just a little about me: I often ask myself, "Do I feel special because I read Elantris in 2005?” Yes. Yes, I do. But seriously, I know that there are many here with that distinction. It's just my jokey way of saying I've been a Sanderson fan for many years.

Well, now that I am officially a member of the Forum, I promise to post comments and replies. BUT, now I have to get back to reading Oathbringer. My Kindle tells me I am 58 percent through the book, and my lunch break is only one hour!

Cheers,
James M.

The little heart in the bottom right next to the number, they are also known as reputation. People give them out when they like your content. Also, dont trust @Ookla the Noble, he is a terrible baker, us members of the dark alley have been practicing and perfecting the delicate are of hemalurgy baking for years.

Don't take those cookies, they're hemalurgically spiked. Have a real one.Cookie.jpg.ef4fe352b68d37a6f64789a534f1ea15.jpg

Wouldn’t it be cool if rather than metal, Alomancy was powered by cookies! Chocolate chip would grant you one type of ability, peanut butter another, and then maybe a more uncommon cookie like macaroons would grant the same power as Atium. Except there would be a lot fatter Mistborns and Mistings.

I’m new here so I’ll just ask the obvious question: Are you and @Ookla the Noble friends? Enemies? Friendamies?

Serious

I'm actually pretty new so I don't really know anyone very well

Joke

While it is true I have only recently opened an establishment here, I have been baking for several years. Though many bakers are more skilled then I, that does not bar me from opposing the unlawful hemalurgic perversion of the noble art of baking.

We are more, business competitors. Most of our interaction occurs on these introduction threads, me trying to bring new members to the dark alley bakery and him and others trying to turn them away. Recently he took a step further and from this link, you can see he is trying to infringe on our  cookie market. Our similar names are explained by this link.

Okay, THANK YOU for that link, Ookla. I might have been confused for weeks. As for the Bakery competition, all I can say is  have you noticed how much plot of every book has some type of dark alley? So it can’t be bad right?

Because you are always trying to give em away and it's obnoxious

Also because the main ingredient in your produce is pieces of people's souls that were ripped off them in an act of murder

How else are we supposed to get new members? Ask them nicely?

Run recruitment campaigns, rather then putting soul-altering additives in your products and then pimping them to unsuspecting victims

That’s no reason to dislike somebody! Half my friends are half-souled demons from Damnation!
