NightFrost
So as I was reading OB part 3 one of the chapter prefaces stood out to me at the beginning of chapter 83 it says "As the duly appointed keepers of the perfect gems, we of the Elsecallers..." -from drawer 20-10, zircon This is one of the few prefaces that tell us who is recording this information and when I referenced my ars arcanum I relised that each gem is associated with a herald who is also in turn associated with a order of KR. So if you line up the name of the heralds, the gems and the 10 surges you will find that zircon matches with the order of the elsecallers. So back to my original topic each different type of gem is the history of each of the orders of KR.
DiamondMind
Maybe not the history, but each gem probably is made by a member of the associated order, yes.
sylauri
Do you think there may be some correlation to Hoid/Cephandrius being referred to as "bearer of the first gem" in the epigraph letter to what you're talking about @NightFrost? Quote Cephandrius, bearer of the First Gem, You must know better than to approach us by relying upon presumption of past relationship. You have spoken to one who cannot respond. We, instead, will take your communication to us – though we know not how you located us upon this world. We are indeed intrigued, for we thought it well hidden. Insignificant among our many realms. As the waves of the sea must continue to surge, so must our will continue resolute. Alone. Or can you point me in some direction to what this might refer to. Apologies, first post on 17th Shard... Autonomy, the shard living in Taldain (White Sand series) has a tendency to split her essence and create deities on other worlds. We suspect her of being a few religious icons on Scadrial and Nathalis. Some suspect her of helping Odium, but that seems less likely now.

NightFrost
Ok well you guys took something totally unrelated to my post. If you go and read OB in the beginning of each chapter it has a couple lines of words. These come from the drawers full of gems that are found in the lower levels of Urithiru. I saw a pattern to each of the gems and realized each one named in the chapter preface's are gems on the ten essences chart in the ars arcanum this chart when set side by side with the ten surges gives us which gem belongs to each order. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HOID. I get where some confusion comes in as my quote talks about the perfect gems however my main point was that that quote was one of the few that told us which order was writing these things down. Calderis
@NightFrost the Ars Arcanum answers your question. Each order is linked to a gem color (and the eyes, plate glow, etc. Match it) Sapphire = Windrunners Smokestone =Skybreakers Ruby = Releasers Diamond = Edgedancers Emerald = Truthwatchers Garnet = Lightweavers Zircon = Elsecallers Amythest = Willshapers Topaz = Stonewards Heliodor = Bondsmiths
NightFrost
Yea I figured that out which was why i created this topic. But have you guys noticed how much info we are given in the Ars Arcanum I have done like three posts based off just the ten essence chart alone.
