Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 So I'm reading the first Mistborn book. Just finished Chapter 38 and literally created this account to post about this. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT! Kelsier was my absolute FAVORITE! Nooo!! Note: Sorry, I get REALLY into my books. 1
Andy92 Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Welcome to the Shard! I remember Mistborn was the first Sanderson book I ever read. It was a roller coaster of a ride towards the end of the book, but I loved it. Keep reading. Have you read any of Sanderson's other books?
Rebecca she/her Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Welcome! Great to have you here. And ya, it is pretty sad. But it gets better. Trust me Also, anyone know how to move topics? Because I think this should be over in Introduce Yourself.
Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 I found Sanderson through a friend. The first series I read was The Reckoners, then I read the Rithmatist, and now I'm here, reading Mistborn. And yes, it does get better! Kelsier's a damnation GENIUS!

Chaos he/him Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I dunno, I can move this if you want @Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me to Introduce Yourself, but if you want to talk more about Mistborn, then I'd keep it here.
Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 I think it'll be fine where it is @Chaos I will most likely continue to fangirl about Mistborn.

Please. The cries of anguish are what sustains many of us between book releases. Reactions to Kelsier's demise are particularly nutritious. 2

SilverTiger she/her Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 @Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me: you should definitely read Arcanum Unbounded if you like Kelsier. It has the story where he finds out about the 11th metal. Also, welcome to the 17th Shard, please have this very yummy chocolate-chocolate-cookie.
Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 @SilverTiger Awe thanks! And I'll be sure to read that one! I can't wait to read about my baby again

I can't wait to read about my baby again I would, however, definitely not read it until you've read at least the first Mistborn trilogy. My recommendation would be to go at it after you've read The Bands of Mourning, book 7, and to not even look at it until then.

Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 @Argent Awe is there spoilers?

Almost none for Era 2, but the ending of The Bands of Mourning ties nicely into something from Secret History, so it's a little better if you read them in this order.
Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 @Argent Alrighty, thanks for the warning!
Podman Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Oh, and I would recommend not eating those cookies. Rule of thumb on the Shard- never accept baked goods.
Andy92 Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I'd also recommend reading all the books through Bands of Mourning before reading the Mistborn novellas in Arcanum Unbounded. The revelations are a lot better if you wait and read Secret History last.
