Hello everyone! I am now on a mission read every published work by Brandon Sanderson and I have a question about infinity blade. Do I need to play the games before I read the books? If not, what information should I now before I start.

I did not and loved them. Maybe my favorite non- cosmere. But you definitely need to read a synopsis of the game that occurs between the two infinity blade books. You don't need to before you read the first, and i actually preferred that i came into the first one cold. But the second one makes little sense if you don't read the summary of what happens in between. Then of course to complete the story you have to find another summary as the books are not the end of the story

I can’t wait to read it! Thanks for the advice. :)

infinity blade: Redemption is up there for best Branderson novella, imo. You should probably read the first one first and playing Infinity Blade 2 gives better context but you don't have to.

Haha, I was just posting this. I personally think only Secret History beats it out.

The best part about Infinity Blade was Brandon's involvement with the story. It took the game to a whole different level of storytelling. Characters were very complex & deep. The part about Radriar and his whole backstory - literally tears in my eyes.

No need to play the games whatsoever, they really don't go into any kind of story in the first game. Infinity Blade 2 seemed to borrow some of the story concepts that Brandon created to show a little bit of framework and minor, very minor, explanations derived from the novellas.
