Favorite Book Titles

Nothing like a great book title to catch a reader's attention. What are some of your? Mine are the following:

Glen Cook usually has a awesome title here of some of my favorites of his- Reap the East Wind, The Fire in His Hands, With Mercy Towards None, A Shadow of All Night Falling, The Heirs of Babylon, and Surrender to the Will of Night

I also think The Crippled God, Farenheit 451, The Lies of Locke Lamora, Calaban's War from different authors are good as well.

One recent one for me is The Beast is an Animal. It really makes you wonder what creature this beast is and it's also pretty simple as well.

The shear amount of "Favorite" threads popping up is making me want to start one on favorite color. Maybe favorite shampoo to.

 I'm partial to Abercrombie's titles. They are nice and simple yet the role just right off the tongue.

Some I read recently and then some I just remember; "The city bleeds gold" by Lucy Saxon. And I love puns so "Armageddon outta here" by Landy.

Honestly, Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell has always struck me as a great name. It might not be the best artistically, but it's definitely memorable. Plus, The Fifth Season and Leviathan Wakes are great.

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender is a lovely title. Also Broken Soup, and The Knife of Never Letting Go, and The Night Circus, although the latter may just be due to the wonderful imagery from the book that the name always brings to mind.

I'm going to go and say The Way of Kings. It just sounds so epic!

I'll second The Name of the Wind and add The Slow Regard for Silent Things by Rothfuss as well.

I'm also partial to The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula LeGuin

They seem a little plain to me but I like mine with a nice combination of gravitas and pretentiousness. Which was your favorite of his? If I had to pick one I would say Dead Beat.

That's actually really tough to answer.

white Night, Death Masks, Summer Knight, Cold Days. They are simplistic indeed yet much like Abercrombie they roll off the tongue so very easily.

Right on Briar King. Another good one I just remembered is All Quiet on the Western Front. It isnt until the last page (last sentence I believe) do you understand how chilling that title actually is.

I always liked the titles of the Belgariad, how they have chess terms: Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, Magician's Gambit...

Oh sorry. Its a novel about World War 1. It is a classic by Erich Maria Remarque
